Yin yoga is not restorative yoga although the two are often practiced together.
Yin safely stresses connective tissue and helps strengthen our joints through holding poses 3-5 minutes or more.
Yin poses are experienced throughout the whole body but typically focus on the areas from the navel to the knees.
Connective tissue doesn’t “stretch” the same way muscles do.
Fascia is connective tissue that interweaves throughout every muscle fiber.
Fascia can’t be forced.
The body needs stress to build strength.
But the constant chronic stress that comes with life these days is the opposite of healthy.
You probably already know this.
You probably hear that tiny voice inside of you asking you to slow down.
Take a break.
Breathe…
Are you listening?
The upcoming intro to yin yoga series I’m offering starting this week is more than just a few yoga classes.
It’s a non negotiable appointment you are making with yourself each week.
For 4 weeks you are actively participating in the health of your mind and body.
It’s time well spent in presence, self-awareness, and connection.
It’s an investment for your wellbeing.
If we haven’t met yet,👋 my name is Kim Fish. 🐠
I’m a wife, a mom, and I homeschool my kids.
I’m a yoga teacher, LMT and advanced level myofascial practitioner.
I’ve been placing hands on folks for 2 decades. This has provided me with insight that allows me to put thoughtful sequences together that leave you with gratitude in your heart, super relaxed, and feeling strong.
I love helping people feel better.
I can’t guarantee that you will heal what ails you over the next four weeks.
I can offer you a space and the time to come back into your body, feel grounded and center yourself.
I have found this simple, mindful practice makes the healing ❤️🩹 process suck less.
Don’t get me wrong. Yes, healing is a beautiful thing.
But let’s be honest. Healing is a messy process.
It’s not linear. You make strides ahead only to take what seems like several steps back.
Healing takes as long as it takes which can feel super frustrating.
We might as well learn to enjoy the process, right?
I’m excited to see the names of those of you who have already signed up.
I can already tell this is shaping up to be another great series!
There is space for a few more.
If you’ve been feeling like something’s gotta shift I hope you will join us.
My experience has been addressing the physical tension helps quiet my mind and provides space for the shift to happen through thoughtful choices.
I hope you come and experience it for yourself!!
