What an incredible day for the Proud Pack!

Our Percussion Ensemble proudly represented Wolfe City Proud Pack Band today at UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest hosted at Rowlett High School and brought home a Division 1 (Superior) rating, the highest honor possible!

It has been at least 30 years since Wolfe City has participated in UIL Solo & Ensemble, and these students didn’t just return, they made history. Their dedication, focus, and countless hours of hard work paid off in the most exciting way. We could not be more proud of how they represented our band, our school, and our community.

A huge thank you to Matthew Melgar, our outstanding Percussion Technician, for the incredible time and expertise he pours into these students. We are also so grateful to Sydney McCollum, our brass technician, for her support and encouragement today. And of course our Assistant Director Lyndi Butler, Principal, Dr. Joyce Sample, Superintendent Mrs.Donna Pessel and the WCISD School Board for their constant support.

This is a milestone moment for the Proud Pack and just the beginning of even greater things to come!

Introducing our Band Member of the Week, the beautiful and talented, Ariana Jaimes. Ariana is a Senior Honor Student who is an incredible leader in the band, academics, and in her extracurricular activities: FBLA and STUCCO. After graduation, Ariana plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin or Texas State, and would like to pursue a career in the medical field. Way to Go Ariana!

Alayna Sample and Siobhan Keane, two of our amazing middle school band students, attended the Stephen F. Austin Middle School Summer Band Camp this past week! They did a wonderful job at their performances and Alayna even won the outstanding musicianship award for her band! We can’t wait to hear about what you learned. You Make us PROUD!

Proud Pack’s own Ziek Binion performed Taps this morning at the City of Ladonia Memorial Day Ceremony. He did a beautiful job honoring our fallen heroes. Way to go Ziek, you make us PROUD!
