Izzy Burger helped show Ellis Sheep Company lambs at the Missouri State Fair. It was a great hands-on learning experience, and an excellent way to continue the connections made with the family she purchased her own lambs for her SAE from.

🌟 SAE SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Clare Christensen has a Diversified Ag Production Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program. She helps out on all aspects of her family's farm, but her focus on this visit were the calves that need specialized attention and her sheep. Clare ensures the 2 rams & 15 ewes have adequate area to forage on grass and have fresh, clean water every day. She hauls water in the UTV to be effecient with her time & energy, so she drove Mrs. Martin around the farm. Clare brought the rams to Barnyard Day to teach Elementary students how she is responsible for their health & well-being. Clare is serving as the 2026-2027 Winston FFA Chapter Treasurer. Keep up the great work, Clare!!

🌟 SAE SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Kyle Christensen has a Diversified Ag Production Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program. He helps on all aspects of the family farm, but today's visit we focused on his dairy cows 🐄 and beef cattle. Christensen Cattle Company knows the importance of keeping accurate records, and Kyle has learned many valuable skills by being hands-on with their operation from a young age.Jenny, Penny, & Peaches make up Kyle's Dairy Production-Ownership SAE, and Peaches is due to calve in a few weeks. Kyle has milked Jenny and used/sold her milk to make various dairy products. He has done a fantastic job of sharing the importance of agriculture to many Winston students, at Barnyard Day & Summer School most recently. Kyle is ready to start his Senior year of High School, and is serving as the '26-'27 Winston FFA President. Keep up the great work, Kyle!!

🌟 SAE SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Michael Warner has a Beef Production Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program. He purchased his own Cow-calf pair from the Tina Livestock Market recently, and the bull calf is getting bigger every day! Unfortunately, the Momma cow had some complications and didn't make it, but as the FFA Creed states, "For I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life..." farming/ranching does not always go as planned.
Hudson Warner is ready to tackle his Freshman year of high school, and has already been thinking a out what he would like his SAE to be.
The Warner Brothers are both involved with many activities & sports, and excel in their academics. Great job, Michael & Hudson! Keep up the great work!

🌟 SAE SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Nate Nelson has a Diversified Livestock Production Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program, and is ready to start his Senior year of high school in a few weeks. He helps his family raise 7 dairy goats, 9 chickens, 5 ducks, and a few horses. Nate milks the goats each day at 8AM and 5PM to keep the does on a consistent schedule, and has been making mozzarella cheese lately! During his visit, Nate demonstrated how he cleans, fills, & maintains the chicken waterer. Great job, Nate! Keep up the good work!

Abi Kitts has a Diversified Livestock Supervised Agricultural Experience program. She helps her family raise their pig, sheep, goats, rabbit, & dogs.
Abi was the only girl who attended FFA Camp from our chapter this year, and she did a great job of mingling to meet new friends from across the state. Keep up the great work, Abi!

🌟 SAE SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Joel Hunter has a Poultry Production-Ownership Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program. He raises chickens at his grandparent's farm, and has a really nice set-up for his birds: plenty of room to roam outside under the netting & shadecloth, a nice coop with nesting boxes & a dustbath, an attached tack room for his supplies & mealworms, and a hydrant that pulls from a spring so they have fresh, clean water. Joel's birds are very calm & friendly-a testament to his animal husbandry skills acquired. Joel also helps his grandparents by raking hay in the summer.

🌟 SAE SPOTLIGHT 🌟
Izzy Burger raises St. Croix sheep for her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program. St. Croix are known primarily for low-input meat production and crossbreeding programs to improve parasite resistance. Izzy uses a rotational grazing program to ensure her flock has adequate grass to forage on. She ensures they have plenty of fresh, clean water to maintain good health. 2 guard dogs protect her flock from predators, but also provide good company at chore time.
Izzy is currently serving as the chapter Secretary, and excels at her academics & athletic activities. Keep up the great work, Izzy!
