Some of the projects we do here at VCA are geared around service work. Over the past year, students have built picnic tables in memory of a nurse for a hospital break area, and for Camp Kita in Maine โ€” a summer camp for kids affected by the loss of a loved one to su***de.

We believe in service learning: supporting our community while giving students meaningful, real-world educational experiences.

This week we had the pleasure of hosting Keene State OSHA Training institute Education Center here at VCA for an OSHA 510 Construction Standards class taught by Dan Whipple.

There were students who traveled from Michigan, Rhode Island and Massachusetts along with a Vermonter! We really enjoyed getting to know everyone involved.

We've got the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association here for Propane Basics AND a 30-person Lead RRP class with Lead-Edu running simultaneously โ€” so we did what we do best and moved to the shop to make it work.

Flexible space. Real training. No problem.

This week we had the pleasure of staging a Murder Mystery for our neighbors at The Mill School. This is a yearly event they do for their students and weโ€™re honored to have been asked to stage the crime scene in our storage trailer!

Theyโ€™ve been a great parter in a few different ways and weโ€™re thankful to be working alongside them in many ways in mutual support of our missions.

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Bring Back the Trades Inc team for a tour of the Vermont Construction Academy and it was an incredible visit! It was so energizing to share our mission of providing hands-on training, industry certifications, and real pathways into the skilled trades with people who are just as passionate about the trades as we are.

A special shoutout to Josh Reap and Matt Musgrave of Associated Builders and Contractors New Hampshire/Vermont, for joining the conversation about how we can work together to grow the trades movement across Vermont and New Hampshire. ๐Ÿ’ช

Together we are making a real impact on workforce development and our communities โ€” and we can't wait for the follow-up visit!

Thank you to the BBTT team for the kind words and for championing the skilled trades!

Over the past year, we've learned something important: it truly takes a village to build a tradesperson.

We've seen students show up ready to work โ€” but without the boots on their feet or the tools in their hands to do it.

So we started the VCA Donation Program โ€” two ways to make a real difference in a student's life:
Support the Mission โ€” every level has a real impact:
$25 helps partially fund a student's needs
$75 buys a pair of insulated work pants or puts you halfway toward a pair of boots
$150 buys a pair of work boots or an insulated work coat
$250 buys a student their first set of hand tools and a tool belt
$500 fully outfits a student with tools, boots, and clothing

Or donate any amount you choose

Sponsor a Student โ€” Cover a student's entire VCA experience from day one to career-ready.

These are Vermont's next builders. They just need the community behind them. Will you be part of their story?

Donate to VCA General donations fund the everyday essentials that make training possible โ€” from steel-toed boots to hand tools to weather-appropriate work clothing.
