A trip down memory lane with Lowell Elementary 🍎✨👏🏼📚

Lowell 3rd graders have been enjoying science! They recently completed a STEAM activity where they were challenged to make a “Bobby” the bobby pin fall as slowly as possible using only one piece of paper and scissors. It was fun to see their creativity and problem-solving skills in action!

During math intervention, students have been playing games to help increase their math fact fluency. Learning through games is a fun way to build both confidence and speed with basic facts!

Finally, both classes have set a goal to become better listeners. We have been learning about what it means to be a SOLAR Listener. Ask your child what each letter in SOLAR stands for and what it looks like to be a great listener!

The 3rd grade classes have also completed their Social contract and their class SMART goal. They are already growing into leaders one heart at a time!

After a busy week in writing, Mrs Rippey’s 5th grade class decided to celebrate with roll a story! Students were able to roll a dice to create their very own story.

The first day at Lowell was filled with STEM in the library, “Saving Fred” and play dough creations in 5th grade, and some rock-paper-scissors fun in 3rd grade.

Happy (the night before the) First Day of School! 🎉

Just a quick heads-up that parking at school is a bit limited, especially during drop-off and pick-up. If the school parking spots are full and you are not just dropping off but instead walking your student in, please feel free to park down the block and walk over. We have crossing guards at each corner to safely es**rt you across the street.

First Day of School Info! 💙

We know the first day of school is a BIG deal! We welcome parents to come in, help your child get settled, and of course, get those first-day pictures! 📸

Arrival:
🏫 The front entrance will open at 7:30 am for breakfast. Classrooms will not be open until 7:42 am, so please wait near the front entrance until teachers are at their doors and ready to greet students.

🚌 Bus riders will wait in the gym or go to the cafeteria for breakfast if needed until 7:42.

⏰ For dismissal at 3:30 pm, kindergarteners along with 4th and 5th graders will dismiss out of the door located on Loomis street on the east side of the school. Our 1st-3rd graders will dismiss out the Millington street doors at the front of the school. (Bus riders will dismiss at 3:25 and will be directed to the gym where they are dismissed to their appropriate bus)🚌

We can’t wait to see everyone and start a great year together! 💙
