One of the first books that I read to my dyslexic younger brother was this classic by Howard Pyle. I was amazed to see how high my brother's auditory comprehension was compared with his reading comprehension. His vocabulary was able to sky-rocket through audiobooks and read alouds while his reading capability was still catching up to grade level.
