2016—The National Education Association created the program (Read Across America) in 1998 to spur interest in reading. In cooperation with Seuss Enterprises, the Cat-in-the-Hat has become the national symbol for the effort. March 2nd is the 112th birthday anniversary of Dr. Seuss, the late Theodor Geisel, whose books remain the favorites of many children. Across America Book Blast, for the children and families in our community. Stories; activities; free books; games; stickers; crafts,; a gently used book exchange; PAWS for reading; Dr. Seuss hats selfie station; pictures with the Cat-in-the-Hat, Thing One, Thing Two, The Lorax, and the Grinch; and refreshments will take place in the Apple Blossom Mall.
