It’s brutal. No faking your way through a summer ruck down here. Your body adapts or you stop showing up.

That’s exactly why it works.
Easy training never built anybody.
The heat does the building for you, if you let it.

You already know the man you’re supposed to be.

That gap between him and you doesn’t close because you want it bad enough.

It closes one decision at a time.
Nobody watching. Nobody clapping.

Stop waiting to become him.
Start deciding like him.

Faith didn’t show up in a quiet room for me. It showed up on the road 40 miles from nowhere, when I had nothing but the next step.

I used to think you had to have it together before God would met you.
Now I know he Mets you in the breaking, not after it.

Rise and Ruck started with four people and a bad idea nobody asked for.

Now it’s grown. Jungle like single track, cypress trees, old stone walls, one creek crossing, crushed granite. It’s a ruck. You don’t have to ruck it.

We live in a world built around comfort. Doing something a little hard first thing Saturday is how you take the day back before it takes you.

By 8am we’ve done more than most people do all weekend.

Free. Every Saturday, 6am, Wimberley Square.

Some wait for the storm to pass. Some walk into it.

Buffalo don’t run from a storm. They turn and walk straight through it, because they know standing still just means suffering longer. Cattle run the other way, try to outrun it, and end up caught in it for hours.

Same storm. Different response. One drags it out. One gets through it.

That’s the whole standard right there.

Comanche Moon Ruck #003.
Aug 28, 8 PM kickoff
Wimberley, TX.

13+ miles through the night, under a full Texas moon starting downtown Wimberley, we go along the river, through the back roads and hills, up Mount Baldy, and back.

20 lbs minimum for guys, 10 for women, plus gear.

Group ruck we stick together.
Nobody’s out there on their own.
That’s where leadership shows up.

This is our third time doing this.
Two groups already know what’s on that ridge at midnight.
Now it’s your turn.

Anybody can ruck a 5K. Even a 10K.

Mile 10 is where it changes. Feet barking. Shoulders aching. Mind starts talking. You don’t listen. You move.

Official Project Grit started with ultra distances. I built shorter distances as rungs on the ladder, for the people who thought ultra was something they could never do.

Comanche Moon isn’t the ceiling. It’s the door.
