Some players wear Tommy John surgery like it’s a badge of honor. We get it. It means they love baseball and they’ve given it their all.
But it’s not anything you want to go through.
You don’t become elite by getting injured.
You become elite by staying healthy.
The truth is, many of these surgeries happen because fatigue and strength loss were ignored long before the elbow gave out.
Let’s stop glorifying the injury and start preventing it.

LiVE ARM identifies early signs of muscle fatigue, even before pain or symptoms begin to show — giving players and coaches a critical head start in preventing injuries. It tracks a pitcher’s recovery between games and across the entire season, providing a clear picture of arm health over time.
The data helps pinpoint injury-prone patterns or mechanical flaws that might otherwise go unnoticed. With this insight, teams can encourage consistent and proactive arm care routines tailored to each athlete.
Most importantly, Live Arm provides objective feedback that lets pitchers know exactly when it’s safe to return from injury, reducing guesswork and building confidence in every comeback.

It usually sounds harmless.
“It doesn’t hurt yet.”
“I’ll be fine tomorrow.”
“Just one more bullpen.”
That’s the moment most injury stories actually begin.
Not with pain. Not with a diagnosis.
But with a decision to ignore something that feels slightly off.
Fatigue doesn’t announce itself loudly.
It shows up as a heavier arm, slower recovery, or stiffness that takes longer to shake out. And because nothing feels broken, pitchers keep going.
That’s how the Permanent Injury Journey starts — quietly.
Not from one bad choice, but from a series of reasonable ones.

In the LiVE ARM study, pitchers didn’t just report shoulder injuries.
They reported elbow injuries too — and more of them.
Out of 7 pitchers who reported being injured:
5 reported elbow injuries
2 reported shoulder injuries
What mattered wasn’t where the pain showed up.
What mattered was what happened before it showed up.
In nearly every case, LiVE ARM recorded large drops in strength around the same time as the injury reports — regardless of whether the pain was in the elbow or shoulder.
That tells us something important:
Fatigue of the decelerating muscles doesn’t care which joint you notice first.
The warning signs show up in strength loss — not just pain location.
Which injury do you think shows warning signs earlier — elbow or shoulder?

Coaching shouldn’t be guesswork. LiVE ARM gives you objective insights into each pitcher’s strength and fatigue levels, especially in the overlooked deceleration phase. Manage workloads confidently, personalize training, and reduce injury risk even in low-resource environments. This is the edge every coach deserves.

At Cecil College, LiVE ARM has become a valuable part of how their team monitors arm health. Read below for the feedback of Assistant Coach Josh.
”As an assistant coach, I’m always looking for ways to better support our pitchers not only in their performance, but also in their overall arm health. Our staff recently started using the Live Arm system, and I quickly found it to be a very valuable tool to incorporate into our pitching program.
Live Arm has given us the ability to monitor each of our pitcher's arm strengths on a regular basis. Instead of relying solely on the way that a pitcher feels or on our own observation, we now have clear, consistent data that allows us to know when a player is functioning at their best and when their arm may need rest. This has been a real game-changer for protecting our athletes and preventing injuries. This also allows us to make better decisions about their recovery time and their preparedness to pitch. Our players can see their data for themselves, too, which gives them a clearer understanding of their own readiness.
Overall, Live Arm has given our coaching staff a greater level of confidence in managing our pitchers. We are very excited to continue using it as part of our program.”- Josh Kline
Having access to real-time strength data has helped them identify trends, adjust training, and support players more effectively throughout the season.

It always starts the same way:
“Just one more outing.”
One more inning.
One more start.
One more weekend because the team needs you.
But arms don’t recover on game schedules.
They recover on biology.
And when strength and recovery start drifting the wrong way, the Permanent Injury Journey speeds up — quietly and fast.
Close monitoring isn’t about shutting pitchers down.
It’s about knowing when to wait, so you can keep saying yes later — not because you’re forced to, but because you’re still healthy.
Sadly most serious pitchers are unknowingly jeopardizing their throwing careers. Learn more about the “Permanent Injury Journey” and how to prevent it, link in the comments.

Some arms are always available.
They answer every call.
They take every turn.
But availability today doesn’t guarantee durability tomorrow.
When fatigue accumulates faster than recovery, the arm adapts — until it can’t.
All serious pitchers are on a “Permanent Injury Journey”. And this journey is insidious.
So how do you know when that “availability” starts costing durability? Most guys don’t ever “feel” it until its too late. You need something to measure it. That’s where the LiVE ARM device comes in.
