Teacher Appreciation Week! I had the absolute best teachers who made me the person I am today. I work with phenomenal educators who do amazing things across BSD every day. And every year, I have to give a special shout out to my favorite teacher, my mom, who is wrapping up her 44th year of teaching. And to think, I have more gray hair than her!

Honoring and remembering all who served this Veterans Day, especially my grandfathers, Luke DeRitis and Richard O’Hanlon, both proud World War II Veterans. Though I never truly knew them, I’ve always looked up to the men they were and the legacy they left behind.

Today is the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. I’m not an overly religious person, but I deeply admire St. Francis, his beliefs, his compassion, and the way he lived his life. Like everyone, I have my faults, but I strive to live with kindness, compassion, care for others, and the Franciscan values of humility, simplicity, and love.
