How long has your tree been up? My Hubby is a staunch believer in the “No Christmas till Thanksgiving” but you better believe the day after Christmas I had our tree up and decorated 😂

Have you guys gotten snow yet?? (Answer is the comments 😉❄️) We had the most gorgeous snowfall on Wednesday! The trees yesterday were covered in ice that made them look like they were made of silver 😍🌨
So while my heart will always be a Summer Soul I’m trying my hardest to enjoy the season I’m in and find beauty.

This morning I listened to a 10 minute story all about how we could plan a trip to the mountains where we would ride bears and deer and maybe build a snowman and eat sausage... no lie, that was the story 🥴
All inspired by her play with our Winter Wonderland Go Play Kit. ☃️❄️🌨
Listening to our little people can be SO HARD! We with our rolling list of things we need to accomplish in our heads can’t be bothered to listen. It takes time, patience, and stopping whatever we’re doing. BUT ITS SO WORTH IT!
Those aren’t just stories to your little person. They are dreams, aspirations, and imaginations. Through them they learn communication skills. They gain confidence in language. They learn how to express themselves. They learn that they are important to you.
So grab your coffee, stop scrolling, and listen. I guarantee you’ll have a better day today if you do 😉❤️

Playdoh is OFF LIMITS in my house- no way I would let that mess everywhere!
If I had a dollar for every time I heard that at our craft fairs I would come away super rich 🤣 Guys, kids NEED messy play.
Through messy play they learn:
How things work together
How shapes are created
Cause and effect
Spacial awareness
How to enlarge their imagination
How to use their hand muscles
How to describe what they made
How to play with others
How to creat stories in their minds
How to coordinate their hands
As Mister Rogers (who I love with all my heart❤️) said - “Play is the work of Childhood.” SO let them play, get messy, and explore.

Life is Won-Dough-Ful
My name is Kim. I am the co-owner/designer of Won-Dough-Ful Play LLC. I have raised 4 children, home-schooled them for many years, taught Sunday School for over 20 years, and taught 4th grade for about 10 years. I have A LOT of experience with kids! In fact, I love kids! I love watching their eyes light up when they learn something new. I love seeing the world through their eyes.
During these many years of working with children, I have loved coming up with creative ways to help them PLAY. Mister Rogers often said, “The serious work of a child is to play.” It is through creative sensory play that children learn to come in full contact with their senses. The smell of a rose. The softness of the petals. The ‘pricky-ness’ of the thorns. The ‘snap’ sound as the stem is broken. Play is important as well because it helps a child develop the ability to plan and ‘figure it out.’
In the early part of 2020, my daughter, SarahJoy Norris, came to me with an idea for playdough kits. She was the new momma of my newest granddaughter, making that three children under the age of 5. The need for a few moments of peace was her main motivation, looking for a way to entertain her 2 and 4 year old with some quiet, independent, safe play while she cared for the newborn.
She is also a ‘creative play’ expert, having studied education in college, worked full-time as a day camp director for preschool age children, teaching Sunday School, and now raising three little girls under the age of 5. She tried several different ‘recipes’ and developed the best playdough recipe that she could find--one that was safe for children, wouldn’t dry out little hands, and would be re-usable for many months. This is the basis for Won-Dough-Ful Play. This Dough, combined with different themed ‘bits-n-bobs’ forms our kits. Each kit is designed to give children the tools they need to use their senses in play, to develop their creativity, and instill learning within them.
