Halloween fun is just around the corner! 🕸🎃🦇
The City of Wildwood Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting vendor applications for our upcoming Spooktacular event on:

Friday, October 23, 2026
6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.
At Wildwood Community Center (6500 Powell Rd., Wildwood, FL 34785)

We are looking for:
🍔Food/Drink Vendors - trucks, trailers, and tents
🍬Trunk-or-Treat Vendors - decorated trunks or tent setups

FALL HOURS at the Wildwood Splash Pad at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park officially begin TODAY, Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Bring the kids, cool off, and enjoy some fun in the sun after school!

Fall 2026 Hours of Operation:

Monday-Friday
2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Saturday-Sunday
12:00 noon - 6:00 p.m.

CLOSED Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

Note: Splash Pad will close Saturday, October 31, 2026, for the season and, reopen in April 2027.

Splash Pad Friendly Reminders:

• Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

• Proper swim attire required. Swim diapers are required for children who are not potty trained. Regular diapers are prohibited.

• No running or rough play.

• No glass containers, food, or drinks on the splash pad wet deck.

• Pets are not allowed. Service animals permitted as per state law.

• Unscheduled temporary closures may occur due to weather, mechanical, or other unforeseen circumstances.

City of Wildwood Parks & Recreation and The Historic Baker House are excited to announce the upcoming Fall 2026 Baker House schedule.

The season will kick off in September with two classic historical tours led by costumed docents.

October will feature the newest Baker House murder mystery dinner show: The Cursed Castle. Baker House murder mysteries are a fan favorite and always quick to sell out, so for the first time ever, an encore presentation will be performed live on stage at Warfield Auditorium (98 S. Warfield Avenue). Later in the month, get into the Halloween spirit with the unparalleled Spirited Ladies and Gents tour.

The Baker House America 250 Veterans Day Celebration will be held in November, with FREE admission for all veterans, featuring a historic walkthrough highlighting the great achievements of our 250 year history.

Pre-registration is required for all events.

Tickets for all events will go on sale Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.

ATTENTION MLS GO SOCCER PARENTS!
This is a friendly reminder that the parent meeting will be held TONIGHT at 6:30 p.m. at the Wildwood Community Center (6500 Powell Rd.). Please make every effort to attend, as important information about the upcoming season will be shared.

Join us THIS MORNING from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Wildwood City Hall Pollinator Garden (200 Wonders Street) for the Great Southeastern Pollinator Census!

The Great Southeastern Pollinator Census, a program from the University of Georgia, helps track the number of pollinating insects all over the southeastern United States.

For 15 minutes, participants will count the number of insect visitors to a plant – no up close and personal encounters needed. This citizen science event requires NO experience or specialized training, and is a great activity for all ages.

Grab a lawn chair and a bottle of water, and come help out with conserving these critical creepy crawlies.

Location: Wildwood City Hall Pollinator Garden (200 Wonders Street)

Ages: All ages are welcome to attend.

The City of Wildwood Parks & Recreation is excited to launch MLS GO, a brand-new youth soccer program designed for boys and girls ages 3–6.

This exciting program gives young athletes the opportunity to learn the game, build confidence, make new friends, and experience the fun of soccer in a positive, supportive, and engaging environment.

Whether your child is kicking a soccer ball for the first time or already loves the game, MLS GO is the perfect place to develop skills while having fun.

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate the start of a new school year at our Back-to-School Extravaganza this past Saturday. We got to see so many smiling faces, and hundreds of students received backpacks, school supplies, and hygiene items to help them start the year with confidence.

This event truly showcased the power of our community coming together to support local families!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all our sponsors, community partners, and vendors for participating in this impactful event. We also want to give a special thank you to our first responders at Sumter County Sheriff's Office-Florida, Sumter County Fire & EMS, as well as the Sumter County School District.
