Over the past three years, as part of Riverfest, Mayor Wu has proudly hosted the I Choose Wichita event, recognizing individuals and organizations that have chosen to call our city home. This event features a design competition for students to create a commemorative coin. The winning student receives a $250 gift card, in honor of America 250, and their school's art program receives a $500 stipend to support their initiatives. This year, Ruby Alvarez, a sophomore at East, took top honors with her exceptional design. Congratulations, Ruby!
