If the Wichita Public School bond passes, Chisholm Trail Elementary - USD 259 would be rebuilt as a modern K–8 school. It would replace a building that had been used as a junior high school, has had several additions over the years and no longer runs efficiently. In this video, Principal Ashleigh Ross talks about the challenges of the school’s current building and how expanding to K-8 in a new building designed for today’s learning would benefit students, staff and the Park City community.

What happens when you put new technology in the hands of middle school students?

At John Marshall Middle School/ Familias De La Escuela Marshall Middle School, Brooks Center for STEM & The Arts and Pleasant Valley Middle School - USD 259, students are building, experimenting and figuring things out. Sometimes, the technology almost disappears altogether.

From robotics and 3D printing to everyday digital tools, the technology itself isn’t really the point. It’s what students do with it.

If you've ever driven by Christa McAuliffe K8 Academy or Isely Traditional Magnet during drop-off or pick-up, you know the problem.

Traffic congestion spills into neighborhoods and puts vehicles and students in the same crowded space.

The 2026 bond proposal would fix that by moving traffic flow onto WPS property and separating vehicle and pedestrian traffic. It’s safer for students, smoother for schools, and better for the neighbors who live alongside them.
