Create Hope and Success for Every Child. Bluestem is a rural school district in eastern Butler County Kansas.
Despite the rural nature of this scenic 350 square mile school district, it lies less than 30 minutes from all of the suburban hustle and bustle on the east side of Wichita, KS. Bluestem operates one 7-12 jr/sr high school and one PK-6 elementary school. Bluestem schools adopted a 4-day school week in 2010. Bluestem Schools implemented a K-12 - 1 to 1 iPad project in the 2012-13 school year.

This year a new law passed in Kansas regarding electronic devices in schools. Please be prepared to follow the policy in compliance of the law. As always, students are allowed to use the office phone to reach parents, if needed.
Fall Sports practice starts Monday, August 17th. MS and HS Athletes must have physicals, concussion forms and code of conduct forms signed and turned in before you are allowed to practice. Please turn them in to the HS Office.

Online Enrollment is Now Open!
If you are enrolling a returning student, log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and select the Forms tab. You must complete all required forms for each student attending the district.
Once a form has been completed, a green checkmark will appear next to it. Please be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the list to ensure all required forms have been completed.
