🍂🌦️ Fall Weather Week! 🌦️🍂

Last weeks lesson plan included fall weather! our little learners had fun creating fall weather crafts while learning about the weather! Along with crafts, we focused on the letter “ F “ and listened to many weather songs!

🦠✨ GERM and HANDWASHING WEEK RECAP! ✨🧼

Last weeks lesson plans were all about GERMS & HANDWASHING! 🫧👐🏽

Our little learners explored how germs spread, why keeping our hands clean is so important, and how healthy habits help keep ourselves and our friends safe! 💙

Throughout the week, our classrooms enjoyed:
🦠 Fun germ-themed learning activities
✨ Our glitter germ experiment to see how easily germs can spread
🧼 Practicing the proper way to wash our hands
🎨 Hands-on crafts and activities
📚 Stories and conversations about staying clean & healthy

Even our littlest learners got involved with age-appropriate sensory experiences and lots of handwashing practice! 🥰

🚨 Important Parent Update

Alford Kids Academy will remain OPEN during the boil water advisory. However, due to the unexpected school closures, unplanned staffing needs, and required classroom ratios, we are unable to accept anymore children at this time.

We are taking additional safety precautions throughout the center. Bottled and distilled water will be used for drinking, meal preparation, and other necessary purposes. Water will also be boiled when needed. Children will continue to have access to safe drinking water, proper handwashing, and appropriate sanitation throughout the day.

Please do not send additional drinks, food, or water unless requested by administration. We will continue monitoring the advisory and will notify families immediately if anything changes.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. The health and safety of every child in our care remain our priority.

🦷✨ Healthy Habits Week at Alford Kids Academy! ✨🪥

This week, our children learned about taking care of their bodies through healthy eating, handwashing, exercise, dental hygiene, engaging crafts, and hands-on activities! We also made a banana oatmeal cookie snack for our “Cooking Thursdays”

We were also excited to partner with ICTeeth and Smile Safari who generously donated toothbrushes and other dental-care items for our children. Thank you for helping us make learning about healthy smiles fun! 💙

📚✨ WE’VE BEEN QUIET ON FACEBOOK… BUT BUSY IN THE CLASSROOMS!

We’ve been diving headfirst into this year’s curriculum, so our Facebook has been a little quiet — but our classrooms definitely haven’t! 💙

Over the last few weeks, our little learners have explored:
👀 My Five Senses — seeing, hearing, touching, tasting & smelling
🧠 All About Me — learning about ourselves, our bodies & what makes us special
🤝 Classroom Routines & Friendship — sharing, listening, cleaning up & learning together

🍎🫧 THIS WEEK: HEALTHY HABITS! 🫧🍎

We’re learning about handwashing, hygiene, healthy foods, movement, dental care and taking care of our bodies!

👶🏽 Even our infants are participating with sensory play, tummy-time movement, songs, textures and age-appropriate healthy-habit activities!

🌈 And for Science, our older learners will explore the Climbing Rainbow Experiment!

We may have been quiet online, but we’ve been LEARNING, CREATING & GROWING every day! 📚🎨💙

WHAT A SUMMER AT ALFORD KIDS ACADEMY!

We had such an amazing summer filled with fun, new experiences, and LOTS of memories! From 🐴 Horseback Riding Week, 🌺 Hawaiian Week, 💦 Water Fun, and 🧪 Science & Discovery, our kiddos had a summer to remember!

Now it’s time to get BACK TO BUSINESS! 📚✏️

Last week was Community Week at Alford Kids Academy! ❤️

Our kiddos made lunches for the less fortunate at open door and got a special visit from some of our local first responders — including K9 Latitude! 🐾🚓

We loved giving our kiddos the opportunity to learn about kindness, giving back, and the amazing people who serve our community!
