Last week, TRIO STEM partnered with Upward Bound Wichita Prep to host campus tours for rising high school seniors!

Students explored the Shocker Success Center and connected with vital campus resources, including Financial Aid, the Student Government Association, Admissions, and the Shocker Career Accelerator.

We love this partnership! It’s a fantastic way to support future STEM students, introduce them to TRIO STEM, and connect them with our incredible WSU campus partners.

Meet Amelia, one of our TRIO STEM tutors! 👋

Amelia is a senior majoring in Sociology and is ready to support you across a wide range of subjects, including English, Spanish, College Algebra, Geology, Astronomy, and all levels of Psychology and Sociology.

Yesterday, the TRIO STEM SSS staff attended NAIR's Wichita State and community open house at the new Hub for Advanced Manufacturing and Research!

It was great to tour the facility and learn more about the incredible work happening there. Many of our students have internships and careers with NAIR, so getting to see this new space firsthand was especially exciting.

We are thankful for opportunities like these that connect our students with innovative employers and hands-on STEM experiences.

Hamza is here to help you crush your math courses. He is a PhD student in Mathematics at Wichita State University and just completed his first semester, bringing fresh insights and valuable experience from recently teaching College Algebra. When he's not solving complex equations, he loves sharing his passion for math with others. 📐

Proud to share that we just wrapped our June 2026 Graduate School Bootcamp!

We hosted 39 students from Wichita State, Emporia State, Central Missouri, and Southeast Missouri representing both McNair and TRIO SSS STEM programs. It was a full week of grad school prep, including mock interviews, and leadership development. Sharing a few moments from the interview sessions and alumni panel.

A big thank you to the 14 faculty and staff who volunteered their time to support our students. Your mentorship made a real impact.

Sydney is here to help you crush your science courses. She recently graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in biology and has 3 years of experience helping students succeed. When she's off the clock, she loves hiking, journaling, and gaming. 🧬
