Wing Chun has been reduced to templates and patterns…
to strain at a knat and swallow a fly. to be fascinated with lines, circles, and angles, while all the above is forgotten in it’s role of self self-defense. Wing Chun is going the road of tai chi. - to be judged in slow motion while somebody measures the angle of your elbow. It is good to learn the finer points, but not in stupidity, to not realize that the finer points are different at different speeds and situations. to judge the Art by anything other than effectiveness in combat is a betrayal. to define Wing Chun as anything other than the science of combat, including its lessons, It’s principles, it’s concepts, to not explore that science is no more than to be at a karaoke club singing Let it be
