Mary McElvain was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, and learned to sew from her paternal grandmother. Both of her grandmothers instilled in her a love of making things by hand and an appreciation for practical, lifelong skills. Mary has over 20 years of experience sewing and quilting and has taught both children and adults. She enjoys helping others build confidence as they learn to create something useful and beautiful with their own hands. When she isn’t sewing or quilting, Mary stays busy as a homeschooling mom. She also enjoys reading, making music, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and their collection of “crazy critters”.
