Thank you to the Blomsø family for opening their home to feed us dinner last night! 💜Here are some Day 2 highlights:
-Junior Zu Pigot broke the SCIAC conference record with his 100 fly time of 47.71
-First year Alexa Melara broke the WC record and went an all time best in the 200 Breaststroke with a 2:21.78
-First year Brooke Geske dominated the women's 100 freestyle with a time of 52.40
-The 400 Medley Relay of Lexi Mauldin, Alexa Melara, Esther Choe, and Brooke Geske raced to first place with a time of 4:00.68

A day later and we're STILL excited!!! Congrats to sophomore Esther Choe, and first years Alexa Melara, Brooke Geske, and Lexi Mauldin for setting the UPS pool record last night in the 200 Medley Relay with a 1:48.69‼️

Whittier Lands Unlikely Transfer To Lead DIII Rankings In 100 Fly Zuhayr Pigot, a former swimmer for the D1 UNC Tarheels and former member of the Suriname World Championship swimming team, made a big splash in his first NCAA competition since 2015.

Whittier College was the best choice for me because of the community built here where everyone looks out for each other. Its a relatively small campus which makes it feel more like a home as everything feels so close by.
My favorite memory with the team was all the times I helped then get out of practice early, whether it be through throwing up after a set or by going a fast time off the blocks.
Fun Fact: I thoroughly enjoy driving and find it to be a second nature of mine.
