We are taking a pause from this space to enjoy these last few weeks of summer doing everything we love to do as a family.

We will also be busy preparing for the homeschool year ahead, planning some really fun events for this fall, and hopefully when we return we'll be building a mud kitchen for one special family!

Our mud kitchen giveaway is still open, so be sure to keep entering, sharing, liking, and following while we're away🦋 we're so close to 1,300 followers!

Happy National Honey Bee Day!🐝

One of the most beautiful things beekeeping has taught us is the magic of delayed gratification. Something that is becoming so rare now days.

You can't rush a hive.
You can't force the bees to build comb faster.
You can't harvest honey any sooner.

You can only observe and care for them through thoughtful decisions, and then you wait. Eventually, you will get to see (and taste🤤) the incredible result of all that patience and hard work.

For children, there are so many lessons tucked inside this process...

🐝 Community - every bee has a role, and the hive thrives when everyone works together.
🐝 Communication - bees have an incredible language of movement, scent, and sound.
🐝 Teamwork - no single bee can do it all. Their strength comes from working together.
🐝 Patience - meaningful things take time.
🐝 Responsibility - caring for living things means paying attention, learning, and showing up consistently.
🐝 Delayed gratification - sometimes the best things are worth waiting for.

Here’s to raising children who are curious, patient, connected, and know the value of working together💛

Remember that time I came across and included a picture of their outdoor canopies on my vision board for 2025? Yeah, me too.

This project came to us at a time when we really needed it. After experiencing a devastating loss in our family last summer, we found ourselves pouring our energy into getting Gather + Grow Wisconsin up and ready for our community. There was something about having a vision, spending our evenings and weekends together, and watching it take shape that gave us something positive to hold onto.

There were long days (and even longer nights), lots of sweat and mosquito bites, plenty of problem-solving, and a few moments of "what did we actually get ourselves into?"😅

But little by little, we built it.

And now, every time I look at it, I see more than just a canopy. I see resilience. I see love. I see something beautiful that came from a really difficult season.

I think that’s part of what makes Gather + Grow so special to us. So much of what we’re creating here has been built with our own hands...and a whole lot of heart🤎

Our hearts are feeling so full as we head into our very last week of Summer Sessions!🦋

To every family who made the decision to spend your summer with us, thank you! We know some of you are local and some drive a good hike to get here! It means the world to us to have your support and spend some time outdoors with your children!

Your feedback, kind words, and reviews are what help other families discover Gather + Grow Wisconsin and what we're all about.

These six weeks of Summer Sessions have been the perfect reminder of why childhood belongs outdoors! 🥾☀️🌳🐞🐛🍅

There's just something about that back to school energy that gives me all the feels🥹 Call me crazy but heading back to school with some new shoes and supplies was one of my favorite childhood memories. Now here we are doing it with our daughter.

It has been really nice meeting families over the last few weeks who are new to our space and are looking for a supportive homeschooling community! We are so happy you found us and look forward to a year of exploration together. Touring our space is a perfect opportunity to get to know one another, answer any questions you may have, and ensure G+G is a good fit.

Spots for our homeschool enrichment programs are filling fast! Our Sprouts program (ages 4-7) will be on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, and our Trail Finders program (ages 8-12) will be on Wednesdays. Be sure to register while spots are still available!

We are also super excited to attend the Wisconsin Homeschooling Expo in Waukesha on August 16th. If you are looking for something fun to do or want more resources when it comes to homeschooling, come check it out! Stop by our booth and say hi👋🏼

Nature became our art studio this week🌿

We discovered that art doesn't have to begin with a blank sheet of paper. It can begin with a walk through the woods, a handful of ripe tomatoes from our garden, or the light of the sun.

This week we...
🧶 Wove with natural materials and created our own nature art books
📷 Captured the beauty around us using CampSnap🏕️📷 (big thanks to Jen Madison Photography for joining us, bringing all her gear, and sharing some of her knowledge/talent with us)
☀️ Explored the magic of cyanotype printing, using sunlight to create beautiful floral prints
🪨 Sculpted garden stones and shaped unique creations from air-dry clay
🖌️ Ended the week learning from a talented local artist (thanks to our very own Nan)...discovering new painting techniques and expressing our creativity on canvas

This week taught us there is no "right" way to create. When we let go of expectations and the need to be "perfect", beautiful things unfold. By giving our children time to slow down and the freedom to create, they learn to see the world a little differently.
