Today was Popcorn Day in 3rd grade! All our lessons in Reading, Writing, and Math involved learning or working with popcorn in some way. In math, we collected data about our favorite popcorn flavor and recorded our data in a bar graph or pictograph. The students had a lot of fun and learned a lot too :)

The students have been learning about quadrilaterals and their attributes. Each group was assigned a quadrilateral and created a poster to show what they discovered about their shape.

Our first parent seminar of the year will be on December 4th @ 6:30. The topic will be on ADHD. Christine Kotik from CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) will be the presenter at this meeting. Please let your homeroom teacher know if you plan to attend.

Congratulations to Mrs. Hill’s homeroom for the winning the math competition 2 weeks in a row for the start of the 2nd nine weeks. Miss Bukowski’s homeroom came in 2nd place both of those weeks also! Congratulations 3rd grade for all your hard work. Can’t wait to see who wins our competition this week! Don’t forget to look over the study guide that will be sent home tonight.
