Hey readers, start planning how you will style your clear backpack for the new school year! The most recent ParentSquare alert addresses the new policy: “To enhance campus safety, support faster entry into school events and buildings, and help staff quickly identify prohibited items while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for students, WSISD will implement a clear backpack policy for grades 6–12 beginning with the 2026–27 school year.”

Hey readers, earlier this year, seniors in Mrs. Urbina’s English IV classes completed a survey for the North Texas NEXT “A guide to life after high school” magazine. Students were entered in a drawing for 1 of 4 electronic prizes. Our very own, Layla Alvizo, was chosen to receive an HO 14 inch laptop! Layla will be featured as a winner in the upcoming NTX issue.
