While our High School FFA Chapter was competing in the State Dairy Evaluation Contest on Thursday, our Middle School FFA students were busy practicing their Opening and Closing Ceremonies!

High school students who were not competing in the Dairy Evaluation Contest spent time helping and encouraging our younger FFA members as they practiced the Opening and Closing Ceremonies used during FFA meetings, banquets, conventions, and other events.

We love seeing our FFA students at every level learning, practicing, competing, and supporting one another! 💙💛🌾

You Are Not Your Own

This week across both Elementary and MSHS Chapel, our students were reminded of a powerful truth: **following Christ means our lives belong to Him.**

In MSHS Chapel, student-led worship from our Worship Arts class prepared our hearts before Youth Pastor Chase Southerland shared from **1 Corinthians 6:19–20**. He challenged students to rethink freedom. Biblical freedom is not permission to do whatever we want—it is freedom from the power of sin so that we can live for Christ.

We were reminded that we will always serve something. Popularity, sports, acceptance, desires—or Jesus. And because Christ bought us with a price, our bodies, plans, relationships, and reputations ultimately belong to Him.

In Elementary Chapel, Mrs. Amanda Anderson shared a similar truth from Galatians using the illustration of a gym. Simply looking at exercise equipment does not make us stronger—we have to use it! In the same way, spiritual strength grows as we actively pray, read God's Word, love our neighbors, obey the Holy Spirit, and learn to say a quick "no" to temptation.

From our youngest students to our oldest, the message was beautifully connected:

We become stronger in Christ when we surrender more of ourselves to Him.

Our challenge for today: If you are not your own, what part of your life are you still holding onto?

And one powerful question worth asking:

Did Jesus get what He paid for?

If Senior Sunrise didn’t bring on the Class of 2027 feels, today’s senior portraits and cap & gown photos certainly did. 🎓💙💛

Our prayer is that these seniors walk boldly into what’s next, trusting the One who goes before them.

“Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.” -Proverbs 16:3 ESV

Welcome Mrs. Taylor to SECOND grade!

I am so excited to be teaching second grade here at CCS this year. From teaching Band Chorus and Drama, to homeschooling my own two boys, and finally falling in love with the world of Pre-K, I am even more excited now about teaching 2nd grade! My husband and I moved here from North Carolina a little more than a year ago to be close to our two sons. I am thankful to be here and I can’t wait to see what God has in store!

We kicked off the school year with our All-School Chapel and our theme: Active Physically and Spiritually!

Our time together was packed with student-led worship, prayer, pledges, and interactive motions to learn our theme verse of the year, 1 Corinthians 6:19b-20.

Mr. David Roy brought an impactful message unpacking the verse:

We Are Temples: The Holy Spirit lives in us, and we are called to reflect God’s character to the world.

We Belong to Him Twice: God owns us first by creation (He made us), and second by redemption (Jesus bought us back).

One Body, Big Purpose: Every student brings something vital to our school community and the world beyond—God created each of us for a unique purpose in His kingdom.

Let's glorify God this year in how we treat each other, speak to one another, and care for our bodies!

🍳 **A Special Thank You from Our Colts Campers!** 💙

Over the summer, our Colts Campers had the opportunity to step into the kitchen for a special cooking class with **Dante at All Seasons Grill!**

Our campers wanted to send Dante and the entire All Seasons Grill team a special THANK YOU for investing their time, talents, and a whole lot of fun into our kids this summer.

We’re so grateful for community partners who make experiences like this possible for our Colts! 🐴💙

Thank you, Dante & All Seasons Grill!

While our high school students are away on retreat this week, our middle school students have been hard at work!

This week they've been exploring the periodic table, researching individual elements, and building creative models to bring their learning to life. It's been exciting to see their curiosity, teamwork, and creativity on display.

It's been a fantastic first week of school, and we can't wait to see what the rest of the year holds!
