🚒🚓 Who helps our community? Our preschoolers have been learning all about community helpers and the important work they do!

These helpers use their skills to keep us safe, care for us, and meet everyday needs. Learning about their work helps our little ones recognize the people they can turn to for help and appreciate the many ways we can serve one another. ❤️

We’re grateful to the Lord for those who protect and care for our community. Thank you, community helpers, for your hard work, compassion, and dedication to our neighbors!

📚 The ABCs of Leadership!

Our Lead for Change students are creating ABC leadership books and sharing their ideas with classmates! Once their books are finished, they’ll read them to an elementary class, helping younger students discover what it means to lead and serve others. ❤️

We can’t wait to share highlights from their time reading with our elementary students!

Our early education teachers make learning letters a little more tropical! L is for Luau, and our little learners celebrated with plenty of aloha and alphabet fun! 🍍🌴

Our teachers are nurturing a love of learning while pointing little hearts toward Christ. We’re grateful for the care and creativity they bring to the classroom! ❤️

Strength to Hold On. Strength to Let Go. Faith to Be Who God Created Us to Be.

Two special chapel services reminded our students that we can trust our Heavenly Father—His strength, His direction, and His purpose for our lives. ❤️

Pastor Zach began with a grip-strength challenge, bringing to life the story of Eleazar, whose hand clung to his sword even when he grew weary. Through 2 Samuel 23 and Nehemiah 4, students were encouraged to remain faithful to what God has called them to do, holding on to Jesus, His truth, and their convictions through adversity.

Through Peter’s step out of the boat, students also considered when God calls us to let go of control and follow Him. A wooden clothespin illustrated both lessons: it can hold on or release, with the spring making both possible... a picture of the Holy Spirit guiding and strengthening us. During prayer, students wrote on clothespins what they sensed God calling them to hold on to or let go of.

In elementary chapel, Mrs. Becky Jenkins from Temple Baptist Church shared Max Lucado’s "A Hat for Ivan". As Ivan tried to wear the different hats others chose for him, students learned that we don’t have to become everything others expect us to be. The One who created us knows us completely and has a purpose for our lives. We can look to His Word and trust His direction.

As we head into fall break, these messages give our families three meaningful questions to discuss:

✨ What is God calling you to hold on to?
✨ What is He calling you to let go of?
✨ Are you listening to Him as you discover who He created you to be?

Our Heavenly Father knows us, guides us, and gives us strength to follow Him.

An apple a day made for a whole lot of learning! 🍎 Our Pre-K and elementary students celebrated Johnny Appleseed with games, dress-up, and plenty of hands-on fun.

They measured how many apples tall they were, graphed the results, picked “apples” from the board to practice reading two-vowel words, and made their own Johnny Appleseed hats. Some students even prepared new apple snacks! 🍏

That’s what being Active Physically & Spiritually looks like at CCS: curious minds, busy hands, and hearts growing along the way! 🍎
