Reminder: PK-3 awards assembly is tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. You may sign your child out with me after the assembly. Your child will be moving up and down stairs so please think about footwear that they are somewhat comfortable in.

Friday is a 1/2 day. If the weather cooperates, this will be field day and the rocket launch. They will need to wear tennis shoes and you may want to bring bug spray!

We can't believe it is the end of school!

Happy Mother's Day to all of our classroom mommas out there. I want to thank you for sharing your most precious gift with us daily- your child. We hope you know that we love these kids with all we have. As our school year comes to an end, we hold on a little tighter knowing that soon we will have to let go and send them on to their next awesome adventure in Kindergarten. It's a good thing we love Mrs. McLeod so much or it would be a lot harder! Thank you, mommas, for creating these beautiful children that bless us each day. We hope you were very blessed today as well!

Kelton Pre-K/Kindergarten Roundup tomorrow, Thursday, from 11:45 to 2:45. This is an opportunity for those interested in enrolling their child in our Early Childhood program to come and visit with the teachers, view the school and classrooms, and get vision and hearing of candidates checked. Enrollment will not take place at this time but WILL be limited, so be sure to contact myself, Mrs. Cheryl McLeod, or Kelton School to get your child's name put on the list! We are proud to be the only STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) school in the Texas panhandle. Come visit us and see what we are all about!

Note: If your child already attends Kelton Pre-K, their name is on the list to have first consideration for Kindergarten.

Today our kids learned what it means to "Sharpen the Saw". This is habit #7. Sharpen the Saw means that there needs to be balance in your life, especially in 4 areas- your heart, your body, your soul, and your mind. To a 4 or 5 year old, it looks like this:
Heart- Playing with friends
Body- Get exercise
Soul- Doing something relaxing that makes you feel fresh inside, like lying on the grass and looking at the clouds
Mind- Doing something that makes you smarter, like reading

As I get older, I am learning that balance is such a key to life. Please continue to discuss this habit with your children and help them to find a good balance in their lives as well. Have a blessed night!

This week we are studying animals from the farm. Mrs. Q brought us a special treat, but we are not sure what it is yet. We are shaking some whipping cream right now! When we get home, ask us what the surprise snack was!

Happy Spring Break! The last two weeks have been tons of fun. This week was Dr. Seuss week and last week was FFA week.

Pre-K explored with watercolors today. We have been studying different art forms this week. We took a mini-field trip to the Art Department and Mrs. Harless talked with us about sculpture!
