🎈El cerebro adolescente
Sabemos que los cerebros de los adolescentes funcionan de manera diferente a los adultos cuando toman decisiones o resuelven problemas.
Sus acciones están guiadas más por la amígdala emocional y reactiva (actuan por impulso, se involucran en peleas, participan en comportamientos peligrosos o de riesgo) y menos por la corteza frontal reflexiva y lógica (la que los ayuda a pensar antes de actuar, considerar consecuencias de sus actos).
Estas diferencias cerebrales no significan que los jóvenes no puedan tomar buenas decisiones o diferenciar entre lo que esta bien y lo que esta mal. Tampoco significa que no deban ser responsables de sus actos.
Sin embargo, estar concientes de estas diferencias nos puede ayudar a los padres a comprender, anticipar y manejar el comportamiento de los adolescentes de una mejor manera.
