Earlier this week the department received a call for a medical emergency. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were approached by Tucker who informed the officers that an elderly gentleman was experiencing a medical issue and required assistance.

EMS personnel later transported the man to the hospital for further evaluation.

While on the scene, several bystanders informed officers that Tucker had noticed the elderly man struggling to walk and stepped in to help him, guiding him down the street to a nearby bench. Tucker then remained with him, waiting until emergency personnel arrived.

In recognition of his exceptional citizenship and bravery, the Westerly Police Department and IBPO #503 presented Tucker with a brand-new bicycle, helmet, and accessories.

Tuckers action demonstrate the importance of looking out for others and we hope he can inspire all of us to be better.

So happy and proud to be running with Colin. He is a father, husband and all around good guy.

Hi! I’m running for Westerly School Committee this November so I thought I’d introduce myself. I’ve been a Westerly resident for over a decade and a proud father since 2021. My son is entering Westerly Public Schools as a kindergartner this year, and I want to do something to make sure he (and all Westerly students) have the best opportunity for success. I am passionate about the importance of public education, and I’ve been attending School Committee meetings and have spoken with the superintendent about issues facing the district and students. Opened my mail and did NOT expect to see myself endorsed 🫨

I’m not on the primary ballot, but sharing flyer space with Tina Spears for State Representative? Wildly amazing 🤩 Westerly- she’s doing a damn good job for us.

Vote Tina on September 9th. Then in November, vote for us both. 💙

Signups are OPEN for the Jonnycake Center's 2026 holiday program!

In 2025, 495 underserved children from 218 households in the Westerly/Chariho region received toys and gifts thanks to the Adopt-a-Family program! With more families each year facing crisis, our goal is to make the holiday season a more joyous and less stressful time of year!
