Welcome to the New Tempo Music Studio!
I am happy to present my music studio to you and to describe some of my teaching curriculum.
Lessons will not only help in the development of a high standard of performance but will also explore the
grammar of this form of art: the theory of music.
Note reading, for the beginning students, and study of scales and etudes will be emphasized especially, since I consider them to play a major roll in developing a strong technique.
A great emphasize will be put on interpretation, skill which require an extensive understanding of wrist, fingers, arm and body motion, and ultimately using one's every day experiences and emotions to captivate the audience through the performance. For vocal students emphasize will also be on breathing and vocalizing technique.
Class performances and performance discussions among students will be encouraged. Piano chamber music,
performance of two pianos, and piano four-hands pieces will also be taught. Classical, sacred and theater vocal pieces will be taught for the voice students. As an option, students may wish to get involved in studying: church music, popular music, chamber music with other instruments, harmony and theory, ear training, and composition and improvisation. Many of these will however be separate lessons from the piano/voice lesson. After my studies at the Juilliard School of Music in New York I realized that my final goal is for my students to be able to choose any type of music on their own and be able to transform it into a magical performance, throughout their life, without the help of a teacher.
I am looking forward to working with you, and I am sure that you will find the New Tempo Music Studio a place in which you or your children will acquire a well-rounded music education and will
develop a great "love" for music.
