Black Lives Matter! Black Lives Are Worthy! Black Lives Are Beloved! Black Lives Are Needed!

WUSC stands with all those who are fighting for racial justice, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

We stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. And we join the global community in mourning the recent loss of life we have witnessed.

WUSC proudly supports efforts toward systemic change that empower Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour in Canada and around the world. We are committed to creating even more spaces for dialogue; to learn; to listen; to act; and to take a more explicitly anti-racist approach to building a better world for all young people.

-----

Hi everyone! We will be extending the application deadline to join WUSC committee. It is now April 20th. This decision came due to the realization of how intense the semester has become for students. Both international and domestic. We really feel for everyone that has to move out of residences. Hopefully, you are all safe and it will stay that way.

Also, feel free to let us know if there are any issues with applying. We will try our best to accommodate people. This applies to the deadline or online access.

Good luck with this intense ending to a semester! ❤️

Reminder: Everyone at Vic can apply!!!

The student refugee program(SRP)aims to resettle and help youth achieve higher education. It supports over 130 refugee students per year across 95 Canadian campuses. Without it, 2000 refugees would not have gotten the chance to safely continue their educational careers. This program is one of a kind because it adopts a youth-to-youth model. Students at participating universities have chapters to help integrate the SRP students. They hold events to raise awareness of the organization, meet periodically with the SRP student to ensure their needs are being met and ensure they are comfortable when they arrive.
