We would like to recognize the Hampden Fliers team for their outstanding performance at the West Virginia Regional Championship. The team did an amazing job in their very first year of competition.
The students showed excellent teamwork throughout the event and worked hard on the autonomous portion of the competition. Their coding eventually worked successfully with all parts of the field, and we are incredibly proud of their dedication and perseverance. The students also delivered an outstanding performance in the piloting section throughout the season and during the competition. Thanks to their efforts, the team tied for 7th place in the Skills Mission category. This is an incredible achievement!
We would also like to thank our school and our amazing parents for their support. They were there with us every step of the way, encouraging and supporting us throughout the competition. Your encouragement helped make this experience possible.
Congratulations to the Hampden Fliers team on an outstanding season and an unforgettable first year of competition!

As part of the IRONMAN 70.3 Western Massachusetts weekend, this year’s event will also include IRONKIDS Western Massachusetts on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Springfield Riverfront Park. The IRONKIDS event includes race options for children ages 1–17, including a 1-mile race, half-mile race, and toddler trot.
The IRONMAN 70.3 Western Massachusetts race will take place the following day, Sunday, June 7, making this an exciting weekend of fitness, family fun, and community celebration in Western Mass.
Opportunities like this are important because they encourage students to stay active, build confidence, set goals, and experience the joy of participating in a healthy community event. Whether students run, walk, cheer for others, or simply enjoy the day with family, events like this help promote wellness, perseverance, and school-community connection.
We encourage our families to consider participating and supporting this positive local event. Families who are interested can learn more and register using the QR code on the attached flyer.
