Having just finished reading and discussing this powerful work with my advanced Reading and Writing class, I wonder how many teens and even adults are seeing the opportunity to question what is happening in the world around them in an informed way?
Liber education opens doors to view the world and perspectives in an informed and critical way. Great classics studied with great mentors give us power to see and understand our present and our future in ways that broaden the mind and empower the individual.

* UPDATE
I will definitely be holding Speech and Debate, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus classes this fall. Pm me if you are interested and I’ll keep you up to date on info as schedules firm up.
I have had a bit of interest in Algebra and Pre-Algebra. I need a minimum of 5 students per class to be able to hold these so let me know if you are interested.
I would love to hold a Shakespeare Immersion class for 12-16 year olds. Let me know if this is something you and your student might be interested in.
I would also love to have a Critical Thinking in the Classics with an emphasis on writing for 14-18 year olds. This would also be amazing with a companion adult book group element if parents are interested in reading some or all of the books their students are studying. Pm me if this sounds like something you’re interested in!

Well, it has been a crazy last couple of weeks traveling with family, but I'm back and ready to plan for next year!

What I love most about mentoring youth is the opportunity to honor each of them on their individual journeys.
Education is more than learning facts and preparing for a career.
Education is about who we are becoming, and discovering the self deep inside that we want to be.
Education should set us free.
Education should honor our beliefs and our heart.
Education is as much a process of learning about ourselves as it is learning about the world.
What a difference can be made in the world by empowered knowledgeable youth who know who they are and what they have to offer!

There is a push to encourage students to choose paths in trade schools over universities. This focus simply puts a bandaid on a symptom of a larger problem.
What do we gain from skipping four years of debt, four years of possibly inadequate job training for unpredictable modern careers if we are simply sending youth, who have been trained in public schools to think and act like obedient employees and citizens, into careers where they will still think and act like obedient employees and citizens? How are they thus less dependent on unpredictable careers and an ever fluctuating job market?
To prepare our youth more fully for the world they are facing we must help them break free of the mold by training them to think, to question, and to evaluate the world with a creative and critical mind. We do this by honoring independent growth and enginuity, by studying classics and critical thinking before they enter young adulthood, before they are faced with the realities of the world. By training youth to think critically before they are required to, they are capable when that day comes.

We love watching and being a part of the life long love of learning journey in youth and adults. It is powerfully transformative and beautiful to see.
Homeschooling your youth is a wonderful way to allow this journey to happen organically and individually. But, independent homeschooling isn't always the best option for all parents and youth, for a variety of individual reason.
This is why we want to offer an educational support program for youth and adults. To give them the opportunity to develop a life long love of learning, to support them in pursuing a passion of education, and to offer them an alternative to traditional schooling or homeschooling.
We love mentoring youth. We have had exciting, fun, and beautiful experiences on this journey with the youth we have worked with in the past. We look forward to many more amazing experiences.

~Ludwig Von Mises

And so choice in educational goals and methods becomes essential to cultivating a life long love of learning.
