Back-to-school isn’t just about backpacks and school supplies—it’s about helping your child feel secure.

If you’re co-parenting, a few conversations before the first day of school can prevent months of unnecessary conflict.

You don’t have to agree on everything. In fact, you probably won’t.

But when you can communicate about routines, expectations, and your child’s needs, you’re giving them something more valuable than anything on the school supply list: emotional stability.

Children thrive when the adults in their lives reduce the guesswork. They shouldn’t have to wonder who is picking them up, whether homework matters at one house but not the other, or whether they’ll be caught in the middle of adult disagreements.

Focus less on making your homes identical and more on making your child feel safe in both.

Not sure how to do this? I can help. Schedule a free meet and greet. The link is in my bio.

I’ll never forget driving away without my 3 year old. The pain in my chest is unforgettable.

But I planned for the weekend and my best friend agreed to stay with me.
I’ll never forget her leaving her husband and 3 kids to support me.
We made plans to get out of the house but incorporated enough flexibility if plans changed.
Years later she admitted she felt like taking down pictures was premature but now she understood it.
New sheets are affordable but I probably would’ve gone for a new bed or even house.
There are so many feelings throughout the divorce process. It’s important that you feel all of them.

If you need help, I’m here when you’re ready.
I’ve been there… and 7 years later, I’m still having those coparenting weekend.

Put your oxygen mask on first.
You can’t pour from an empty cup.

We have all heard these things about taking care of ourselves. But as a single parent, it can be tricky.

Here are a few things I do…
🚿 An everything shower
➰Curling my hair
🎭 A face mask
💅🏼Painting my nails at home
🦶🏼Foot lotion and cozy socks
😴 Going to bed early
🎦 A movie
🍣 sushi

What would you add?

I’m guilty of this.
Staying too long because of the investment of time I’ve made.
Sometimes it’s as benign as the line at a grocery store but sometimes it’s a toxic relationship.

Don’t let yourself stay in something bad for too long.
I’m not saying at the first bump, you should bail… but stay honest with yourself about the health of the relationship.
