A couple of our favorite girls started Kindergarten today.
We have had Lauren and Charlotte with us since they were teeny tiny babies. Wayyy back before Little Sprouts Ministry was even a thought.
When you’ve cared for a child day after day, sometimes for years, they become so much more than a name on your attendance sheet. You’ve watched them grow from needing help with the smallest things to becoming this independent little person who is ready to take on kindergarten.
You’ve wiped their tears, celebrated their milestones, listened to their stories, learned all their little quirks, given countless hugs, and watched friendships form. You’ve been part of their everyday life—and they’ve become part of yours.
And then suddenly, it’s time to send them off. 🥺
Of course, you’re proud. You know this is exactly what you’ve been preparing them for. But that doesn’t make the goodbye any easier. There’s an empty spot in the classroom, a missing little voice, and a piece of your heart walking into a brand-new chapter without you.
One of the hardest parts of childcare is loving these babies like your own while knowing your job is ultimately to help them grow enough to leave you. 💛
Thank you to their families for allowing us to be such a big role in their foundational years. We have no doubt that they are ready to spread their wings!
Look out kindergarten- here they come!
