Can you guess what’s about to be printed on these?
While student camps are still in full swing, the SCALE K–12 team is also starting to gear up behind the scenes for July Teacher Week. 👀
More than 100 educators will be joining us on campus soon for a week of microelectronics, AI, and hands-on learning—and let’s just say, we’re already getting things in motion.
More to come… 🚀⚡

Today our camp participants stepped outside their usual space and into a hands-on experience with the Women in Engineering program.
They spent the day exploring biomedical engineering by tackling a real-world challenge: designing solutions to patch skin abrasions. Students worked in teams to prototype their ideas, then tested how well their “skin patches” held up under different conditions.
It was a great mix of creativity, engineering thinking, and problem-solving as students refined their designs based on how they performed in testing. Big ideas, real testing, and lots of iteration—just like engineers do.
Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Women in Engineering program and give students a glimpse into how engineering can directly connect to health and medicine.

⚽💡 Day 1 of Week 3 at Purdue INSPIRE Camp is underway!
Our Grades 7–9 campers jumped right into an engineering challenge that combined teamwork, critical thinking, and circuit design. Using LEDs, batteries, and wiring components, teams worked through a series of soccer-themed challenges that tested their ability to analyze problems, troubleshoot connections, and think like engineers.
From strategic planning to hands-on circuit building, campers are learning that innovation happens when collaboration and creativity come together. We can't wait to see what they accomplish next as they continue exploring the exciting world of technology, engineering, and microelectronics!

🧶 Wrapping Up the Semester, One Stitch at a Time! 🧶
At SCALE K-12, we know that creativity, collaboration, and community are just as important as innovation. As we celebrate the end of a busy and successful semester, our team took some time to unwind at a crochet party!
From learning new stitches to sharing laughs and conversation, it was a great opportunity to connect, reflect on all we’ve accomplished, and recharge for the exciting work ahead.
Here’s to a semester filled with impact, growth, and plenty of opportunities to learn—both in and out of the classroom. 💙

What a fantastic finish to Week 2 of Purdue INSPIRE Summer Camp! 🎉
Today, our campers put their creativity, coding, and problem-solving skills to work as they completed their final projects. Using AI-assisted programming and micro, students brought their ideas to life by creating and building their own miniature worlds.
Throughout the week, campers explored computer science, engineering, and technology concepts while learning how innovation and creativity go hand in hand. We are so proud of all they accomplished and can't wait to see where their curiosity takes them next!
Thank you to our campers, families, and staff for making Week 2 an incredible experience. 🌟

Day 3 of Camp! 🚀💻
Today our campers explored the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence using Google Teachable Machine! They trained their own machine learning models and discovered how computers can learn to recognize images, sounds, and more.
Campers also put their coding skills to work with micro:bit programming, creating interactive projects and learning how code can control real-world technology. 🤖✨
It's been amazing to see their creativity, problem-solving, and enthusiasm grow each day. We can't wait to see what they build next!

🌟 Purdue INSPIRE Summer Camp – Day 2 Update 🌟
A second highlight from today’s Grades 4–6 experience features a computational thinking and origami activity that challenged campers to think like engineers in a new way.
Students practiced breaking problems into clear, step-by-step processes, identifying patterns, and applying structured reasoning—key skills in computer science and engineering. They then brought those ideas to life through origami, where precise sequences of folds required careful attention to detail and planning.
This combination of logic and hands-on creation helped campers see how computational thinking shows up in physical design and real-world engineering work.
It’s been exciting to watch students strengthen their problem-solving skills while also expressing creativity through structure and design.

🌟 Purdue INSPIRE Summer Camp – Day 2 🌟
Our Grades 4–6 campers continue to build momentum as they dive deeper into hands-on engineering experiences.
Today, students explored more advanced concepts in microelectronics and engineering design, including a closer look at how photolithography is used in modern manufacturing. While their photolithography projects are currently processing, campers were challenged to think critically about precision, process steps, and real-world applications of the techniques they’re learning. Check back later to see how these turn out—they’re going to be cool!
While on a field experience with Purdue’s Women in Engineering Program, campers also gained valuable exposure to engineering pathways and saw firsthand how collaboration and creativity come together to solve complex problems.
Across all activities, we’re seeing strong teamwork, curiosity, and growing confidence as campers engage with increasingly sophisticated ideas and tools.
And of course, McAlister’s Deli continues to keep our young engineers fueled for a full day of discovery. 🥪
We’re excited to see how their ideas and skills continue to develop throughout the week!

Week 2 of Purdue INSPIRE Summer Camps is underway!
This week, we’re welcoming students in grades 4–6 for a fun-filled week of engineering, creativity, and teamwork.
Students are putting their new circuitry skills into action by creating circuit cards and applying what they’ve learned to a large-scale soccer stadium project inspired by the excitement of the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Through hands-on design and problem-solving, campers are discovering how engineering concepts can bring big ideas to life.
Of course, camp isn’t all work—there’s plenty of time for fun, friendship, and chalk at recess, too!
We’re excited to see what these young engineers create throughout the week. ⚽🔧💡
