We are so proud of senior, Jada Franklin, for her award as the 2019 Outstanding Senior in African American Studies & Outstanding Senior in . Jada excels in her classes and still finds time to give back. She does anti-racist organizing as the president of and she has been an intern in the office.

Join us in welcoming Dr. Andrea Williams for her Harriet Jacobs Lecture Series on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Williams, an associate professor of English at is currently writing her next book studying unmarried African American women and how singlesness has evolved.

History of Injustice in the U.S. will be taught by Dr. Ronald Stephens next semester (SPRING 2019) through interactions between the U.S. judicial system, federal government and members of African American communities. Join Dr. Stephens on Mon. & Wed. at 4:30-5:45PM!

Join Dr. Gallon next semester (SPRING 2019) on Tuesdays and Thursdays to analyze the origins of African nationalism, European colonialism, racial conflict, and the war leading to the independence revolution of the 1960s and 1970s in Africa. We're excited about this one!
