Thinking about what our lab is thankful for, we are grateful and honored to have worked with Tumaini for nearly ten years now.

This Giving Tuesday mark your calendars! We were able to get onto globalgiving's 1-to-1 match! Every dollar you give is doubled, going twice as far for Tumaini's plans this year, including expanding daycare services for students with young children and launching small-scale manufacturing spaces to build and sell the products that students innovate.

We are so excited to rally with you and for the first time fundraise with Purdue Day of Giving for Tumaini! It has been a busy and productive year, with 2023 seeing Tumaini’s first official graduation ceremony, the opening of day-care services for teen mothers, and the launch of the USAID-funded school building project. Your support will help directly fund teacher salaries, opportunities for professional development, student scholarships, and other core goals that typical grant programs can’t cover.

Help support the important, hard work of Tumaini’s teachers and students as part of PDOG by designating 026475 in the “specific fund information”! Link here: https://dayofgiving.purdue.edu/donate?campaign_id=180795

Dr. Pisut Koomsap, Project Coordinator of ReCap 4.0 Competence Development Project for Thailand, paid a visit to Purdue and the DeBoer Lab to learn about the School of Engineering Education, Purdue University, share updates on recent work, and identify areas of potential work together. Doctoral student Nrupaja Bhide provided a deep dive into our lab's work as well as the School's WANG facilities and research areas. Dr. Dhinesh Radhakrishnan joined Dr. Jennifer DeBoer for further discussions of exciting ReCap4Thailand developments. We look forward to ongoing conversations, and many thanks for the visit!

One of the highlights of our Pajama session was listening to Professor Shireen Mohammed of the Department of Dams and Water Resources Engineering at the University of Anbar share the amazing ways that she leveraged the ABC (active, blended, and collaborative) framework as a response strategy in the wake of Covid-19's disruption of her in-person classes.

Collaborating with the Tumaini Innovation Center teachers was such an amazing experience! Over two weeks we had rich conversations and reflections as we started the process of integrating their local knowledge in the LED curriculum. And of course with some good food, music and canine company to help us as we started on this next phase of localizing engineering education.
