HHS I&E Ambassadors, who are selected for their innovative contributions and leadership within their fields, play a pivotal role in mentoring peers, facilitating interdisciplinary collaborations and promoting a dynamic exchange of ideas.

Get to know the HHS I&E Ambassadors. Bruno Roseguini, associate professor in the Purdue University Department of Health and Kinesiology, specializes in developing innovative therapies for chronic cardiovascular conditions, particularly peripheral artery disease. His notable work includes pioneering heat therapy studies, which have shown significant potential in promoting angiogenesis, reducing pain and enhancing muscle strength.

The Purdue University Department of Health and Kinesiology is hosting a free Health Fitness Assessment Fair in December. Interested participants can stop by the A. H. Ismail Center for Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine to interact with students who will provide feedback on health and physical fitness assessments, such as body composition, strength and cardiorespiratory fitness.

Each semester, students in the Department of Health and Kinesiology give research presentations to faculty and peers. This semester, Leanne DiCiaula, from the Motor Development Lab presented on Naturalistic Observations of Snacking Behavior in Young Children. This project investigated snacking behaviors in the home, such as what types of snacks infants eat, how frequently they snack, and how snacking behaviors might change with their motor milestones. Great work on this project, Leanne!! And great presentation!!

Happy motor development Monday! This week we’re featuring senior Leanne DiCiaula. Leanne will attend physical therapy school at Augustana University after graduating this spring. She plans to become a pediatric physical therapist because she has always loved working with kids, and it has been her dream since she knew she wanted to pursue therapy. Congratulations Leanne!

Happy motor development Monday! This week we are featuring graduating senior Ashley Hartman! Ashley has been accepted into four medical schools and is currently deciding where she will be attending in the fall. She eventually wants to be an orthopedic surgeon. Congratulations, Ashley!

Happy motor development Monday! This week we are featuring graduating senior Riya Karpe! After graduation in May, Riya will take a gap year working as a medical assistant while applying to physical therapy school this summer. Her dream job is to be a pediatric physical therapist at a children’s hospital. Congratulations Riya!
