West Jordan Elementary

Hi friends,

It was the intention of Jordan School District to leave the playground equipment at the back of the school for the children of the community to continue to enjoy. We noticed that some time in the last week, our swings have disappeared. If you know where they may have ended up, will you please encourage that they are returned to the school for the use of the community? They can be left by the front door since someone is here everyday, and can check for them. The children who play out there every day would really appreciate it!

The blue bench at the front of the school has gone missing as well.

Dear West Jordan Elementary Family,

As our 41 years in this community comes to a close, I speak for many staff members, both past and present, when I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the many happy years we have spent together. You have been supportive and kind. You have welcomed us and made us feel part of your community. You have let us teach your children but you have taught us many things as well. It is the community that has made this school so wonderful, and I know you will bring your light to your new schools as well. Our legacy lives on in our children and with that, the spirit of West Jordan Elementary will continue burning brightly as they go out and make their mark in this big, beautiful world. It has been my privilege and blessing to be your principal for the past 7 years. Thank you for letting me serve you, and for serving me so well. This community will always have my heart!

There are many end of year events coming up, one of which is the Family Picnic! Please reach out to your child's teacher or the office staff with any questions! We hope to see you there! (Please be sure to let us know if additional family members are planning to order school lunch ASAP so we can plan accordingly!)

Closing Celebration for West Jordan Elementary School | West Jordan Journal Did you attend or work at West Jordan Elementary School? You’re invited to a celebration!

It is the time of year when we start getting ready for end of year events, including FIELD DAY!
Field day is fast approaching! It will be on Thursday, June 1st. Just like last year we are having two sessions. K–3 has field day from 9:30–11:00am, and 4–6 has field day from 2:00–3:30. We would love to have volunteers to sign up to help run field day. We are looking for at least two volunteers per classroom to help run all of the stations. Adults willing to help can sign up using the following Google form: https://forms.gle/osdo3hQWSdxD1nz58.

We would love to have this be a large community event, with both past and current community members in attendance. Please tell your friends and neighbors with ties to WJE. Thanks!.

We are looking for old photos of staff and students of WJE. We know many of you attended this school when you were children and might have some you are willing to share. You can dm them to us here, post them to , or email them to [email protected]. You can also bring them in and we can scan them for you. We really appreciate it! Thanks!

Due to adverse travel conditions and unplowed streets in many areas of the District, along with predictions by the National Weather Service of additional significant snow accumulations throughout the day, Tuesday, April 4, will be a virtual learning day for all students in Jordan School District.

All schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, April 4.
There will be no in-person learning in our schools on Tuesday. No meals, no preschool, and no daycare will be provided. Teachers will be available to meet with students virtually between 10 a.m. and noon. Schools will communicate how to best connect with teachers and will share any additional schedule information.

District crews and contracted services will continue to clear snow throughout the day. A decision will be made regarding after-school and extracurricular activities by 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
