Big news! 🎉 Tolles Career & Technical Center’s Adult Education division has officially achieved national accreditation through the Council on Occupational Education (COE), a major milestone that expands opportunities for Central Ohio learners.

This recognition affirms the high quality, integrity, and impact of our adult training programs and opens the door for federal student aid (including Title IV and Pell Grants), helping more adults access career-advancing education close to home.

I’m deeply committed to strengthening West Jeff—coaching volleyball, volunteering for school science presentations, mentoring students, securing grants for learning programs like Lunch and Learn and the Library Summer Reading program, and revitalizing properties to enhance our neighborhood’s quality of life. I do this to show my children, and yours, how great it is to be a Roughrider.

As your candidate for re-election to the Jefferson Local School Board, my promise is “Uniting Experiences and Education for Every Student.” With a 1994 West Jefferson High School diploma, a BS from OSU, and an MBA in Organizational Excellence in progress, plus 21 years at Battelle., I bring precision and leadership to the table. I’ve traveled the world training lab technicians on safety, but nothing matters more to me than supporting our educators who shape our kids’ futures—spending more time with my daughters each day than I do!

Over my 4 years on the board and as West Jeff’s Tolles Technical Career Center representative, I’ve delivered: breaking tradition with innovative leadership, boosting Tolles enrollment to over 1,300, and overseeing a $30 million lab expansion for cutting-edge training in welding, construction, nursing, cosmetology, and early childhood education. As a mom, church volunteer, volleyball coach, Dippin’ Dots maker, and Girls on the Run coach, I’m woven into our community. I understand the pressures parents face—rushing to practices, making ends meet, and navigating society’s demands. That’s why I ensure our schools’ money is spent responsibly, prioritizing student success, quality staff, and robust programs, even when tough decisions are needed.

Our mission is clear: represent teachers, parents, the community, and local businesses, with students always at the heart. I hold high expectations for a value-added education, preparing every student for employment, education, or enlistment through work-based learning and alternatives to the traditional route. Education isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I’m pushing for more activities, clubs, arts, athletics, and leadership programs to boost engagement and well-being—data shows engaged kids are happier and less likely to face truancy or isolation.

Our schools need a board with varied voices, parents, educators, and professionals like me, to spark fresh ideas. I collaborate with our board, listen to school families, secure community grants, and partner with businesses to align education with local needs. I envision West Jeff schools where every class builds skills, every activity fosters connection, and every student dreams big, supported by our town. I’ve walked these halls, worn the Roughrider jersey, cheered on game days, and proudly sing every word of the alma mater at graduation! Now I watch my daughters carry on our legacy.

As a lifelong West Jefferson resident, mom, OSU graduate, and microbiologist with 21 years in a high-stakes Biosafety Level 3 lab, I bring a unique perspective to our school board. As a compliance officer, I’ve mastered navigating complex regulations and laws, giving me the skills to tackle intricate school policies with clarity and ensure compliance. My MBA in Organizational Excellence equips me to manage budgets and plan strategically for our students’ future. My leadership experience, from managing teams to driving innovative projects, helps me foster collaboration and guide our schools toward a shared vision.

For the past 4 years, I’ve served on both the Jefferson Local School Board and the Tolles Technical Career Center School Board, gaining deep experience in education policy, contract negotiations, multi-million dollar renovation/construction projects, and community engagement. My experience helps me connect with our school families and build strong partnerships. As a professional, I know how education translates to the real world, understanding the skills employers seek, like critical thinking, accountability, reliability, problem-solving, and teamwork. This insight drives me to shape policies that prioritize career-ready skills, from college prep programs to hands-on training and work-based learning, preparing our students to thrive in today’s workforce.

As a mom, church volunteer, youth volleyball coach, and community advocate, I understand the pressures parents face, juggling work, running kids to practices, and keeping up with life’s demands. In all that chaos, you can have peace of mind knowing I’m in our schools, at the games, and out in the community, fighting for our kids to have the opportunities they need to succeed. I believe a diverse school board of parents, educators, professionals, and community leaders, is essential because our students come from all walks of life. I know the thrill of a West Jeff touchdown, the struggles of our rural families, and the dreams we hold for our kids. That’s why I’m running for re-election to the Jefferson Local School Board, to keep our schools strong, innovative, and ready to prepare our students for the real world.

My proven results speak for themselves: hiring our exceptional new superintendent, improving school lunches, securing grants for community learning programs, boosting Tolles Technical Career Center enrollment to a record 1,342 students, and overseeing a $30 million expansion to add cutting-edge welding, construction, and nursing labs.
