Come for the stacks Saturday 1 March as the Speedway Lions Club hosts their annual pancake breakfast. Eat! Eat! And guess what? I’ll be there! How lucky are you?!

Happy New Year Sparkplug!

2024 will mark our 45-year class reunion. Crazy, huh?

Your organizers were discussing the event, when and where we'd like to convene, and have some options to share with you.

First up, the when. Currently, we are looking at weekends in the month of September. The weekend of September 6-8 is out as the preceding Monday (9/2) is Labor Day, with many of you on vacation. The weekend of September 13-15 is an option. The following weekend, September 20-22, sees a sports car racing event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (TireRack.com's Battle on the Bricks), so that weekend is probably out. The final weekend, September 27-29 is also an option.

Next, we are considering venues. The Friday night 'meet 'n' greet' at McGilvery's Pub & Eatery, on N. High School Road in Speedway, continues to be a big success with the class. Tim has an 'in' at McGilvery's and reserving the patio for us won't be an issue. For Saturday, we are thinking a more casual atmosphere, and are eyeing the Speedway American Legion Post 500 on Georgetown Road. There's a bar for those class members who wish to imbibe, and food is also available. Our thought process is that we'll reserve our 50-year reunion for a more upscale venue.

In the coming months, you will receive a poll via our website www.sparkplugs1979.com wherein you can vote on which September weekend you prefer (or submit an option weekend).

Sad news. If you went to Wheeler for grade school, you’ll certainly remember Mr. Miller as the janitor. He was a nice man, and a hard worker. He and Mr. Pope, his assistant, kept the school clean! Thinking of the Miller family. 🙏

Hey Sparkplugs, this is our classmate! If you haven't heard, our buddy Jim has been doing this for 22 years. 22 YEARS!! This is an understatement, but he is one heck of a guy. Take a couple minutes and watch the interview. Never forget...
