I've been learning that everyone has their zone of genius but sometimes people need a little help to bring their gifts and talents into the world.

You might be an incredibly gifted artist, a talented teacher, or even a brilliant businessperson and yet struggle to stay on top of all the things you want to get done.

And maybe you've tried a variety of productivity solutions, practices, and tools to help you accomplish your goals but still feel like you're always behind.

What most people don't realize about the various productivity solutions, practices, and tools is that they are designed to be "one-size-fits-all."

And that makes sense when you are trying to help the most amount of people. HOWEVER...

The reason a lot of those solutions may not work well for you is that you are not like most people.

You are so unique: your personalities, communication style, work preferences, and so much more mean that one-size-fits-all won't always cut it for you.

What I'd love to offer you is help creating a personalized productivity practice (infused with things like mindfulness, wellness, and spiritual rituals) that is perfect for YOU.

I'm working on some exciting things for you over the next few weeks but in the meantime, I'd love to offer you an opportunity for free coaching to help you become more productive.

If you'd like a 30-minute mini-coaching session with me so that you can tell me where you could use some help setting goals, designing plans, creating habits, or getting things done, I'll share my best practices, tools, and resources for FREE!

Book now at https://lotuspathway.com/productive

Quick note: I'm only offering these sessions until the end of February so grab your session while spots are still available!!

Why I disappeared for a bit...

I decided to step away from social media for the last few months and at first, I didn't really have a good reason why.

Maybe I'd become disenchanted with the platform. All I knew was that I wanted to stop posting so I did.

As I spent more time reflecting on this, I found that I had taken a break for the following reasons

** 1 **
I realized that I had trained my brain to crave the dopamine hits that come with all the likes and comments. What I actually was authentic connection, but when I found myself posting just for the sake of posting, it wasn't connection I was seeking, it was dopamine.

** 2 **
I had lost my connection to my "deeper why" (a concept I have been working with coaching clients on for the last few months). This happens sometimes and instead of forcing a new or stronger why I decided simply to rest.

** 3 **
I needed to think about how I wanted to use this platform. I had been following the formulas I'd learned from other people I follow in this pace (post daily, offer value, then sell) and it didn't feel aligned. And as an introvert, posting daily felt inauthentic. I realized that the people I was learning from were extroverts so trying to use their process wasn't working.

But then...

..a few days ago, I started reading "The Practice: Shipping Creative Work" by and had a string of aha-moments. I found myself highlighting just about every other sentence. I've been learning so much and my main takeaways so far are:

A) Creation is a practice and if we don't show up, we aren't practicing or creating

B) You are what you do, not what you WANT to do (i.e. writers write, they don't think about writing)

C) Inspiration will show up when you do

So I've decided how I want to use social media more intentionally. I'm going to use it as my "practice" space, to write and share what I'm learning with you. That's it. No other aims for now. I'm going to try it out and we'll see where it takes me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you so much for being with me on this journey. ๐Ÿค—

If you're feeling creatively stuck, the books I highly recommend include "The Practice," "The War of Art," and "The Artist's Way" (swipe for book images). ๐Ÿ“š

When the pandemic first began, I remember praying, "Please, Universe, keep RBG safe." I knew she was battling cancer but she had beaten it before and I saw her strength as insurmountable. I wasn't worried about her making it past November 3rd; I wanted her to live another 10 years and continue sharing her amazing light with us.โ €
โ €
To me, she represented huge progress towards equality and proof that we can change the world. She was a tireless champion for women's rights and she changed what life looked like for American women.โ €
โ €
I'm deeply saddened that she has passed on. What upsets me more is the fact that this one woman, this one Supreme Court seat is what we feel makes the difference in whether or not women's rights, LGBTQ rights, worker's rights, and social justice will continue to be upheld. โ €
โ €
Women's rights (especially a woman's right to make decisions about her own body) should not be back on the table just because we've lost one of our greatest champions.โ €
โ €
What can we do?โ €
โ €
We can write our senators (ESPECIALLY if you have a Republican senator) and demand that any consideration of a new Supreme Court Justice take place after the next president is elected.โ €
โ €
We can vote, not just for President, but for Congress, Senate, District Attorneys, Judges, City Council, etc. because they all influence, create, and uphold the laws we have to abide by.โ €
โ €
When they say "every vote counts," they don't just mean every person's vote counts, they also mean that every person you vote for has to potential to change the course of our history.โ €
โ €
RBG fought as hard as she could for us and now she has handed us the baton. We have to continue the work she started.โ €

I love the spiritual and wellness space but my entire career was in business and tech. So when I left that world to do my own thing, I wasn't quite sure how to bring it all together. ๐Ÿค”โ €
โ €
Then one day, Natalie () shared her vision for a mastermind called "The CEO Circle" and I got SO excited. ๐Ÿ˜โ €
โ €
As an Executive Coach & Consultant, Natalie dreamed of bringing together a group of modern, mindful leaders and offering them unique leadership development, coaching, and connection opportunities. โœจโ €
โ €
When I shared my ideas for , Natalie was the one who got excited and it wasn't long before we decided to partner up and bring it to life. โœจโ €
โ €
And now I'm pinching myself because somehow the Universe has gifted me with:โ €
โ €
โœจ A business that allows me to combine my executive and consulting experience with my love of all things spiritual + meditation + personal growth!โ €
โ €
โœจ An amazing and perfect-matched partner who I absolutely LOVE working with ( - you are the best! ๐Ÿค—)โ €
โ €
I'm sharing this for two reasons:โ €
โ €
1) I want to remind you that even if you don't have things figured out right now, trust that the Universe will guide you towards the perfect result if you allow it tooโ €
โ €
2) If you consider yourself a modern, mindful leader, I want to invite you to follow and (coming soon!). We'll be talking more about The CEO Circle and how to apply over in those two accounts.โ €

Last weekend, Mark and I became infatuated with the idea of buying an RV and traveling for the next year. We dreamed of seeing more of our beautiful country, waking up next to lakes and breathing the fresh air of the forests.โ €
โ €
We talked about where we'd go, how we'd manage to both work in such a tiny space, and what sort of rig we'd buy (yep, I'm starting to learn the lingo ๐Ÿ˜).โ €
โ €
I began researching like crazy, reading books on what life is like as a full-time RVer, following RV remodelers on Instagram...I was going deep into this rabbit hole.โ €
โ €
And then I paused.โ €
โ €
I asked myself what was behind this sudden urge to drop everything and become a nomad.โ €
โ €
The more I explored the root of my feelings, I realized the following...โ €
โ €
..the travel bug had bitten me hard because it's been a long time since I've gone anywhere...โ €
โ €
..I was craving some adventure as my life has been so steady lately (which I'm grateful for but c'mon, we all desire a healthy mix of both, right?)...โ €
โ €
..I wanted a change of scenery after being ๐—Œฬถ๐—ฬถ๐—Žฬถ๐–ผฬถ๐—„ฬถ (safe) at home for the last 5 months...โ €
โ €
..I was sick and tired at staring at all of the junk that Mark and I have accumulated over the years (as do we all) and moving into an RV would be forcing mechanism to purge what we no longer needed or loved...โ €
โ €
..and I was seeking a new source of creative inspiration.โ €
โ €
For various reasons (personal, professional, logistical), we've decided to put our RV plan on hold for a while.โ €
โ €
In the meantime, I've decided that there's no need to wait until that time to start downsizing and clearing out some accumulated clutter. (I'll be sharing more about what I'm learning about minimalism over the next few days).โ €
โ €
How about you? Are you feeling the urge to make some massive life changes? Have you explored the root cause of these feelings?โ €

I spend hours everyday learning - reading, listening to podcasts, researching things online - but over the past few years, I feel like I have been unlearning just as much.โ €
โ €
Many of us don't realize how much our perception of reality has been influenced by others, whether it's society, our family, or friends.โ €
โ €
If you were to stop and examine some of your core beliefs and try to trace them back to their roots, you'd likely find that many (if not most) of the ideas came from someone else.โ €
โ €
That's normal. When we're young, we learn from watching and emulating others, from being taught existing structures and norms.โ €
โ €
But as we're seeing today, existing structures and norms are failing us and have been for a really long time.โ €
โ €
Now is the time to explore what this all means for us, as individuals.โ €
โ €
Yes, we can look outside and see massive change already happening (which is both inspiring and scary, depending on what you're looking at), but we have to look inside too (perhaps most importantly).โ €
โ €
What is it that YOU believe in? Are those beliefs actually yours or did you inherit or absorb them? What is your heart telling you is true?โ €
โ €
Eventually, the world will settle and new norms and structures will be put into place. But instead of just unconsciously accepting them as truths, let's go into this new phase of life with eyes and hearts wide open. โœจ

How to stay grounded during stressful times...

Does anyone else feel like they have whiplash after the last couple of weeks?

Just when it seemed like the country was reopening and returning to "business as usual," we hear that coronavirus cases are hitting record highs in multiple states and businesses are closing back up again.

Uncertainty is one thing but having your expectations raised one minute and then dashed in another is rough.

It can be challenging to stay grounded through all of this so I thought I'd share some of the practices that I use to help me get through stressful times.

(summary below; full details with some videos on the blog)

1. Pause before reacting

2. Notice how your body is feeling throughout the day

3. Practice mindfulness meditation

4. Do a deep breathing exercise

5. Acknowledge and respect the way you feel

What are some other ways that you've been staying grounded these past few weeks/months? I'd love for you to share with me in the comments below ๐Ÿค—

We're celebrating freedom today but not everyone in America is truly free yet. We have a lot more work to do before we have true equality and the unalienable rights "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" are available to all.โ €
โ €
We are imperfect and so is our country, but by working to heal ourselves and become more self-aware, compassionate, and accepting, we can help our country do the same. โ €

We used to go out to dinner every single Wednesday night. We'd indulge in handmade pasta, Italian wine, and almost always splurged on desserts. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿท๐Ÿฎโ €
โ €
All of that came to an end over three months ago when a shelter-at-home order was announced in California. So we switched to Zoom and continued to see each other every week.โ €
โ €
We finally decided to get together in person last weekend but we were under no misconceptions that the virus was any less of a threat just because weโ€™re tired of it and we missed each other.โ €
โ €
So , .arigo and I sat outside and kept a 6ft distance. We brought our own snacks and beverages (no sharing). We had masks on when we greeted each other and refrained from hugging (which was really hard because these are two of my favorite people in the world). โ €
โ €
I know everyone is tired of staying apart and wants this thing to be over but itโ€™s not. We had another record day of new cases yesterday (nearly 50,000 in the U.S.) and people are still dying. ๐Ÿ’”โ €
โ €
Remember: we can stay connected AND be mindful of our health and safety. It doesnโ€™t have to be either/or.โ €

It's the first day of the second half of the year and so many people are still hoping that things will go back to "normal" soon.โ €
โ €
But why? โ €
โ €
We are co-creators of our world so letโ€™s create something much more loving, just, and compassionate than the world we lived in before.โ €
โ €
Let's start today by opening our minds and hearts to what is possible, not by looking back to what was. โค๏ธโ €

I know it's been a while since I've posted here but that doesn't mean I've been inactive.

I've been doing many things, starting with educating myself on how we got to this point in time; how the oppression of the BIPOC has evolved over the last 400+ years, and how deeply entrenched it is today.

I've learned how much more work must be done in order for all Americans to enjoy true equality.

But learning is one thing, taking action is another.

At first, I was feeling really guilty for not being out there protesting but the more I thought about it, I realized that protesting was one way to contribute but that there were many other ways as well.

That's when I recognized that as an introvert, my participation in the fight against racism wasn't going to look the same as it did for others.

So I wrote a blog post called "Activism for Introverts and Extroverts" because I think it's important to acknowledge that fighting for what we believe in looks different for each of us depending on our personality style.

In the post, I share several ways that introverts and extroverts can contribute in ways that align with who they are.

And a quick reminder for my fellow introverts: know that your work doesn't have to be visible on social media to be meaningful.

The fight is only just beginning so let's choose how we're going to fight and feel empowered by our choices. โœŠ๐Ÿฝโค๏ธ

We cannot call ourselves a peaceful civilization when those who are paid to "protect and serve" us are killing people at alarming rates. โ €
โ €
What can we do about it? โ €
โ €
We can demand that funding for these departments be reallocated to more effective means of community safety.โ €
โ €
We can demand that police officers get more than 8 hours of training on conflict management and meditation (and AT LEAST as many hours of training as our hair stylists do).โ €
โ €
(Swipe for more stats)โ €
โ €
The call to may sound like a rash decision, but is it because we've just come to accept this rate of murder by those in authority as an acceptable reality?โ €
โ €
What is rash about wanting less violence?โ €
โ €
We can and must do better. โ €
โ €
We must hold our law enforcement to a higher standard. โ €
โ €
First comes awareness, then comes action.โ €
