Rhonda Norman Coaching Mindset Coach; I help Black women create a better life through the practice of self compassion

Self-care is wonderful.
And… most of what we call self-care is really stress maintenance.

It helps us recover from lives that are too full, too demanding, too quiet about our needs.

But if you’re constantly “needing” self-care,
it may be worth asking a deeper question:

What in my life is creating this level of stress in the first place?

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself
isn’t another routine, ritual, or reset.

It’s a boundary.
A conversation you’ve been avoiding.
A pattern of over-giving.
A role you’ve outgrown but keep carrying.

Relief doesn’t always come from adding more care.
Sometimes it comes from removing what keeps draining you.

Consider this today:
What would shift if the focus moved from managing stress
to eliminating the source of it?

Self-care is necessary.
But it’s often just how we cope with stress—not how we reduce it.

If your life requires constant recovery,
it may be time to look at what’s creating the pressure.

Consider this:
What would change if the focus shifted from managing stress
to eliminating what causes it?

That’s a different kind of care.

What Happens When You Work With Me

Reclaiming Self is not a program where you’re told what to do.

When you work with me, we slow down the noise so you can hear yourself again.

You learn how to recognize when you’re overriding your needs.
How to make decisions from clarity instead of pressure.
How to stop negotiating yourself away to keep everything running.

This work changes how you show up in your life — not because you try harder, but because you’re more grounded.

I’m opening a limited number of Reclaiming Self conversations this week.

If you feel yourself in this, schedule a call.
And if this reminds you of a woman who needs this, please share it with her.

About Strength

I admire women who have the strength to endure.

For many of us, endurance was learned through survival.

I watched that kind of strength in my Grandmom Ida.
A widow with eight children.
Cleaning houses.
Working to put food on the table.

She was strong because she had to be.

I also saw the cost of that strength.
When she was sick, she didn’t see a doctor.
When she was tired, she didn’t rest.
When things got hard, she didn’t ask for help.
She kept going.

Some women continue to live this way.

Maybe not exactly like my Grandmom — but close enough.
The problem isn’t strength.

It’s the belief that you have to carry everything alone.

The work I do helps women slow down enough to see the pattern they’re in, understand where it came from, and decide what they want to carry forward, and what they don’t.

Women who work with me learn how to care for themselves without guilt, make choices that support their well-being, and show up for their lives and families from a place that feels more grounded and sustainable.

If you’re tired of surviving and ready to live differently, a conversation is a good place to start.

I’ve been away from social media for a bit, and not because I lost interest or ran out of things to say. I stepped back because I was doing the deeper inner work that always comes before the next chapter.

Sometimes we have to go quiet to hear ourselves again.
Sometimes we need to pause so we can return grounded, clear, and aligned.

Over the last few months, I’ve been working closely with Black women navigating leadership, identity, emotional exhaustion, and the silent weight we carry in spaces that benefit from our brilliance but rarely make space for our healing.

In that work, something powerful emerged — something I’ve been building quietly and intentionally:

✨ Reclaiming Self™: A 6-month private coaching experience for Black women who are ready to rebuild their identity, restore emotional safety, and step into confident, self-led leadership.

This isn’t about striving harder.
It’s not about fixing yourself.
It’s about coming home to the woman you’ve always been.

If you’ve been shrinking, second-guessing, or carrying more than people realize, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to navigate that alone.

I created a space curated just for you — a place where your voice, your emotions, and your wellbeing matter.

I’m back.
Grounded.
Clear.
Ready to serve at a deeper level.

If you want to talk about what support could look like for you in this season, I’d love to connect. My calendar is open.

In my sixteen-week OneonOne Coaching program, we go deep.

My mission is to help transform the black community one black woman at a time through the process of self-compassion.

As “we” continue to wrestle with societal misconceptions, racism, and unconscious bias, self-love and adoration can be useful tools against such things.

I’m on a mission to help black women tap into deep love and adoration for themselves. When we truly love ourselves, we no longer tolerate misbehavior from others.

When we adore ourselves, we will stop self-sabotage and invite new possibilities.

We believe we are worthy of good things.

We don’t have to feel like we’re failing when stressed, overwhelmed and burned out.

It. Is. Hard.

Doing it alone is harder.

Come, join me and find renewed strength, energy, focus and community.

I would love to discuss how my program can help you. Click the link to learn more.

You know the saying, "Mind your business?"

In the same energy, I want to remind you to "mind your mind" because what you think does matter. How you think affects your energy, your mood, and life outcomes. In coaching, we talk a lot about thoughts, feeling and actions. Your thoughts/beliefs drive your feelings, and your feelings/emotions drive your actions. So, mind your mind-your thoughts matter.

There is growing evidence to support the benefits of self-compassion for Black women.

Research has shown that self-compassion can help to mitigate the adverse effects of stress and trauma and improve overall mental health.

One study found that Black women with higher levels of self-compassion experienced less anxiety and depression and greater overall psychological well-being. The study concluded that self-compassion could protect Black women facing multiple stressors, including racism and sexism.

Another study found that self-compassion was positively associated with resilience and coping skills in Black women. Participants reported that self-compassion helped them to manage stress and adversity and to view their experiences in a more positive light.

There is also evidence that self-compassion can improve relationships and social connections. A study of Black women in romantic relationships found that those who were more self-compassionate reported greater relationship satisfaction and were more likely to engage in healthy communication and conflict resolution.

The research suggests that self-compassion can positively impact Black women's mental health, well-being, and relationships. While more research is needed in this area, the evidence to is promising and supports the idea that self-compassion is a valuable practice for Black women.

🌟 How are you managing your stress to prevent burnout? 🌟

It's time to acknowledge that we all need support in changing the dynamics of our lives. So often, we deceive ourselves into believing we can do it all on our own. But the reality is, seeking guidance and partnering with a coach can make a significant difference.

🌱 Partnering with a coach can help you create the skills and awareness you need to change your thinking and internal dialogue with yourself. 🌱

Remember, self-care isn't just about bubble baths and spa days (although those are wonderful too!). It's about building resilience and developing strategies to prevent burnout. Reach out, find that support, and let's work together to create positive change in your life!
