End of an era, start of a new chapter. 🌅
As this school year comes to a close, we are saying a very special, bittersweet goodbye to our incredible retirees. Together, these individuals have dedicated decades of service, love, and energy to our students, classrooms, and community.
To our retiring teachers and support staff: You haven’t just worked here; you have shaped the future. You’ve comforted scraped knees, inspired brilliant minds, kept our buildings running smoothly, and left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Thank you for your tireless dedication. We wish you nothing but relaxation, adventure, and joy in your well-deserved retirement! 📚✈️
Parents, alumni, and friends—please join us in celebrating them! 📣

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re highlighting our very own Licensed Professional Counselor, Mrs. Maryela Garza. To Mrs. Garza therapy isn't just about "fixing" problems—it’s about creating a safe space for all students to be their most authentic self.
Whether our students are navigating a major life transition or just feeling a bit "off," Mrs. Garza is here to help them navigate the journey.
The Mary Hoge MS community thanks Mrs. Garza for her selflessness and commitment to our students and staff.

While the "summer slide" sounds like a fun day at a water park, for students, it’s actually the phenomenon where they lose significant academic ground during the break. Engaging in summer reading is the most effective way to put the brakes on that slide.
Let's prevent the "Summer Slide"
Research shows that students who don't read over the summer can lose up to three months of reading progress. This gap compounds year after year, creating a significant achievement gap.
The Fix: Reading several books over the summer can be enough to prevent a decline in reading levels.
Here are the summer reading activities and a link to Weslaco ISD's online library catalog.

What an incredible way to wrap up the school year! We recently hosted our End-of-Year Awards Ceremonies, and our hearts are full of pride for our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students.
From academic triumphs to displays of outstanding character and leadership, our students have shown that the spirit of a Jaguar is all about growth and perseverance.
✨ Highlights from the Ceremonies:
Academic Achievement: Recognizing those who pushed their limits and reached new heights in the classroom.
Jaguar Awards: Celebrating the students who lead with kindness and integrity every single day.
Perfect Attendance: A shout-out to the dedicated students who didn't miss a beat all year long.
UIL and Athletic Awards: Recognizing students that represented our school in extra-curricular activities.
"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." — We saw those efforts turn into major victories this year!
Thank you Mary Hoge for Unleashing Excellence all year long!
