🚌 Secondary Shuttle Bus Reminder

Need a ride to the Secondary Complex? Shuttle buses are available for students attending the Middle School, High School, and Mosaic who need transportation from one of our elementary schools.

Shuttle buses depart promptly at the following times:
🔹 Barryton Elementary: 7:40 AM
🔹 Mecosta Elementary: 7:40 AM
🔹 Weidman Elementary: 7:35 AM

⏰ Please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes early so students are ready to board before the bus departs.

Shuttle buses are also available in the afternoon to transport students back to the elementary schools.

🏫 Open Houses are TONIGHT!

We’re excited to welcome our Warrior families back into our schools tonight as we get ready for the start of the 2026–27 school year!

🔹 Elementary Open Houses | 5–6 PM
🔹 Middle School Open House (Grades 6–8) | 5:30–7:30 PM
🔹 High School Open House | 5:30–7:30 PM
🔹 High School Freshman & New Student Orientation | 6–7 PM in the Auditorium

📝 Don’t forget your registration paperwork!
If you haven’t returned your student’s registration forms yet, you can bring them with you tonight and turn them in at your school office during Open House.

Come meet your teachers, visit classrooms, get familiar with your school, and help us kick off another great year at Chippewa Hills.

We’re getting closer to the first day of school! Our first Back-to-School event is 5th Grade Orientation TONIGHT, August 19, from 5:30–7 PM at the Middle School.

Then tomorrow, we’ll welcome even more of our Warrior families for Open Houses across the district!

🚌 REMINDER: Transportation Changes Due Today!

Warrior families, today — Wednesday, August 19 — is the deadline to submit any transportation changes needed for the first day of school on Monday, August 24.

If your student needs a change to their bus transportation for the start of the school year, please contact your school office or the Transportation Department at 989-697-3435 today.

Changes submitted after today’s deadline will not take effect until Wednesday, August 26.

🎉 Meet Barryton Elementary’s new second grade teacher, Crystal Flowers!

Crystal is a Chippewa Hills graduate and earned her teaching degree from Northern Michigan University. She is also a very familiar face in our district! Crystal has spent the past seven years working at Chippewa Hills as a paraprofessional, and loved working in education so much that she decided to return to school to become a teacher!

As she begins this new chapter, Crystal says she is excited to make a positive impact in the classroom while teaching, supporting her students, and being an active part of our Warrior community.

Outside of school, Crystal loves heading to the beach or snuggling up with a good book. She and her husband have two sons, one who recently graduated from Chippewa Hills and another who will be a sophomore this year. Their family also recently welcomed a new puppy named Niko! 🐶

We’re so excited to see Crystal take this next step in her journey at Chippewa Hills. Please join us in congratulating her and welcoming her to her new role! ❤️💙

🎉 Please welcome Lauren Lowery to the Warrior Family!

We’re excited to welcome Lauren Lowery as a new English Language Arts Teacher at Chippewa Hills High School!

Lauren is a graduate of Alma College and has spent the past few years teaching summer school and Middle School Special Education in the mid-Michigan area.

As she begins her new role at Chippewa Hills, Lauren is looking forward to meeting our Warrior students and staff, trying new things, reading lots of great books, and getting involved in the school community. She’s especially excited to attend extracurricular events and cheer on our students outside of the classroom!

Outside of school, Lauren loves to read, travel, and spend time with family and friends. This summer was an especially exciting one for Lauren and her husband as they welcomed a new baby girl to their family! They also have a chocolate Lab named Chunk. 🐶

🎉 Welcome Back to the Warrior Family, Isabel Lee!

We’re excited to welcome Isabel Lee as our new First Grade Teacher at Mecosta Elementary!

A Chippewa Hills graduate, Isabel earned her teaching degree from Northern Michigan University in the U.P. She spent the past year teaching kindergarten in Milwaukee before recently moving back to the area. Isabel says she is excited to return to Chippewa Hills as a teacher, be part of the Warrior family in a whole new way, and meet her new first graders!

Outside of school, Isabel enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, traveling, crafting, and making 3D architectural models. She and her husband, who met while they were students at CHHS, were married last summer. They also have a one-year-old kitten named Ducky. 🐱

🎉 Welcome to the Warrior Family, Tucker Scoville!

We’re excited to welcome Tucker Scoville as our new STEM Teacher at Chippewa Hills Middle School!

Tucker began his college career at Michigan Technological University, where he studied Geological Engineering, before returning to school at Saginaw Valley State University to earn his teaching certification. For the past four years, he has taught math and STEM courses in mid-Michigan and has also coached Robotics.

Tucker says he is excited for the opportunity to teach what he is most passionate about here at Chippewa Hills. He’s also looking forward to exploring the hiking and running trails around our school campus!

Outside of school, Tucker enjoys playing disc golf, spending time outdoors, and 3D printing. His wife is also an educator here at Chippewa Hills, and they have a French Bulldog named Leia. 🐶

🎉 Welcome to the Warrior Family, Anika Shephard!

We’re excited to welcome Anika Shephard as a new Kindergarten Teacher at Mecosta Elementary!

Anika earned her teaching degree from Central Michigan University and is already a familiar face at Chippewa Hills. Last year, she served as a long-term substitute teacher at Barryton Elementary. Now, she’s excited to officially begin her professional teaching career as part of the Mecosta Elementary team!

Anika says everyone at Chippewa Hills has been incredibly helpful and welcoming, and she is looking forward to getting to know her students, families, and colleagues as she begins this new chapter.

Outside of school, Anika enjoys crocheting, traveling, and music. She plays the flute and is married to our school’s band teacher—so music definitely has a place in their household! She and her husband also have a puppy named Quincy. 🐶
