This restriction enhances the immersive experience, transporting you to another place, free from distractions After your tour, you can head to the cafe for a full meal or grab an all-vegetarian snack at the Shayona food center + gift shop on site ☕️ #NJMOM Insider Tip: Be sure to bring socks as no shoes are permitted inside. Try the masala chai or if you’re craving something sweeter, you can’t go wrong with a mango lassi. Here’s a secret… This was my second time in São Miguel and I am so utterly convinced that the Azores are the best hidden gem within a 5 hour flight of the East Coast USA. If you’ve never heard of them, the Azores are a group of nine volcanic islands located in the North Atlantic. They are an autonomous region of Portugal, known for their lush green hillsides, dramatic cliffs, and volcanic craters. Sometimes you can find flights from major airports along the East Coast direct to João Paulo II Airport (PDL) in Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel (the main island) for about $300-400 RT. Here are 5 of the best things to do in São Miguel when you get there: 🌋 Visit Sete Cidades and take in the view from Boca do Inferno viewpoint 🥾 Hike to Lagoa do Fogo 👙 Visit Furnas to soak in the hot springs at Parque Terra Nostra and try the traditional Cozido das Furnas meal 🐟 Eat fresh seafood! A whole restaurant meal for 2 costs about $40USD 🐋 Go whale watching April - October. The Azores are a marine hotspot and you can see humpback whales, s***m whales, fin whales and several species of dolphin ✈️ Take an inter-island flight to visit the other Azores islands, like Terceira, Pico, and Flores Island. Just looking at the world from this side of the glass… crazy to think that this time last year, I was sitting on a broken office chair near the trash cans, soaking wet, starving & in pain from a badly broken leg.
Now, I’m inside, have a big family, get all the food & treats I want & am so loved it’s made my tiny heart grow 3x the size.
I hope that everyone of you gets that love from someone special in your life.
