It is with heavy hearts that we announce the postponement of our upcoming Christmas Dinner. Our President, Jim McAlister, and his family are grieving the loss of his mother-in-law. During this time of sorrow, we ask everyone to keep the McAlister family in their thoughts and prayers.

Fall is upon us.And that means a change of menu for the Sumter County Cattlemen.
Come out to the Sumter County Farmer's Market First Friday night event and enjoy a bowl of world famous Phantom Ranch stew. There's only two places in the world you can enjoy this stew; at the bottom of the Grand Canyon at Phantom Ranch and in Webster at the first friday night event. Of the two, Webster is definitely easier to get to.

We are all set up for the Bushnell Fall Fest! We are proud to have the Junior Cattlemens with us as well raffling off a BEAUTIFUL fall wreath. Bring your kids out for some roping fun and take a fall picture with our hay stacks! Also make sure to check out our selection of license plates and hats.

It was a great week representing Sumter County's cattlemen and cattle women at this year's Florida Cattlemen's Association convention. It was a successful week including a few important accomplishments by members of the SCCA.

Congratulations to Sr. board member Gary Revels on earning the Honorary Director award.

Congratulations to State Director/Secretary Tyler McAlister for not only graduating FCA's Leadership Academy, but for also being named co-chair of the newly formed FCA Disaster Relief Committee.

Congratulations to President James P. McAlister for being appointed Chairman of the FCA Historical Council.

And congratulations to Sumter Junior Florida Cattlemen's Association President Josie Strong for representing the youth of Sumter County at her first ever convention.

We would also like to thank VP Curtis Toman ,SCCA member Joyce McAlister and Gator Collegiate Cattlewomen member Sheyenne McAlister for representing Sumter county throughout the week.

Members will be receiving an email updating them on important topics covered during convention.
