I did another upcycled rag rug, and I’m so happy with how the color pooled. The weft I used was a multicolor print piping from the 1980s or 90s that was left over from an estate of an upholsterer.

This necktie rag rug transforms familiar textures and patterns into a bold, one-of-a-kind piece for the home. Each tie carries its own history, now reimagined as color, rhythm, and structure underfoot. The pointed ends become fringe, a quiet nod to what these materials used to be.

This is the only handmade gift I was able to craft this year because of the move and stress at work. It’s awfully pretty and my mother loves it. The pattern is a turned based on Wandering Vine over shot pattern.

So proud of my very first project on the AVL computer dobby loom. Full of mistakes, but even more full of potential, and I finally feel like I understand the tech. It was meant to be a sample… but became an extra-long, double-wrap scarf that’s incredibly cozy and warm.

I just finished measuring this wet finished sample of a wandering vine scarf that I’m about to weave. This was a real challenge, as it was my first time threading 18 shafts, it’s almost perfect, I’ve got one more mistake to fix before I’m off weaving this traditional overshot pattern reimagined as a turned twill.

New loom, new possibilities! This is my first little sample on my new to me AVL workshop dobby loom. I will give a formal introduction at some point, but I’m excited for the possibilities.
