EPISODE 2

“Su***de is a permanent solution
to temporary problems.”

Tomorrow is a special show.

The reason.
The purpose.
The inspiration.

The ✨E N T I R E✨ reason I started this podcast, because of Raymond.

The whole goal was for this to be a place to share stories of triumph and to talk about the things nobody wants to.

Tomorrow, we’re gonna talk about a beautiful boy that saved my life more times in his short life being his sister.

The story of a boy who came into the world fighting and left this world fighting.

His story matters.
His accomplishments matter.
His impact matters.
His absence now matters.

So pull up a seat! There will be lots of laughs & lots of tears, but as we said before— RAW authenticity is what the goal was from the beginning!

Thankful everyday I get to do this with my bestfriend as she has sat with me through all the ugly phases of grief that I’m still learning to navigate through.

The goal is to build a community that sees it’s okay to not be okay.

Have seat.
Pour a cup of coffee.
Saddle up for the chaos.
Be ready to hear a story of love and a pain I’ll never be able to explain.

I’ve realized mental health isn’t some instant thing where you wake up one day and everything is better.

It’s waking up every day and choosing not to go back to the things, habits, or ways of thinking you once relied on to cope. And sometimes you have to make that choice 10 times in the same day.

It’s stopping yourself from reaching for what feels familiar, even when your brain is telling you to.

Just because something helped you survive a moment before doesn’t mean it’s actually good for you.

Some days choosing differently feels easy. Other days it’s just plain exhausting.

But I’m learning those little choices matter too, even when nobody sees them. 💜🩵

You’ve survived every day you thought would break you. You’ll get through this one too. Don’t let tonight be your last. 🩵💜

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month. 🩵💜

But I don’t want this to be one of those posts we make because it’s September and then forget about it when October gets here.

I want us to actually keep talking about this. All year. Even when it’s uncomfortable. Even when we don’t know what to say.

Because there are people right now who are hurting and nobody knows.

They’re going to work. They’re laughing. Making jokes. Answering texts. Taking care of everybody else. Saying “I’m fine” because it’s easier than trying to explain what’s really going on.

So check on your people. And I mean REALLY check on them.

Ask again when they say they’re fine. Call them. Sit beside them. Sit in the silence if that’s all you can do. You don’t always have to have the right words. Sometimes just being there matters more than anything you could say.

And don’t only check on the person who looks like they’re falling apart. Check on the person who seems like they have it all together, too.

And if you’re reading this and you’re the one who’s struggling…

please stay.

I know sometimes “it gets better” probably doesn’t feel believable when you’re in the middle of it. You might not believe it right now. That’s okay.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just make it through today. Then tomorrow. Then the next day.

I’m really glad you’re here.

And I hope you stay long enough to see just how different your life can look from the place you’re in right now. 🖤

If you’re struggling, call or text 988. You don’t have to wait until you’re at your absolute lowest to ask for help.

And please remember:

your voice matters.
your story matters.
YOU matter. 🩵💜

I just wanted to take a minute to say how amazing it is to see this being shared on the news.❤️

I think sometimes we forget how powerful it is when someone is willing to be honest about the things they’re going through. It takes a lot of courage to put those feelings into words and share them with the world.

So I’m asking everyone to take just two minutes today and listen to this poem. Don’t just hear it — really listen to it.

Delane Erica thank you. Thank you for being vulnerable. Thank you for being honest. Thank you for giving a voice to something so many people struggle with but don’t always know how to say out loud.

You never know who needed those words today. You never know who feels a little less alone because you chose to share your story.

This is why these conversations matter. This is why voices matter.❤️

Please don’t let your kids be on TikTok or any social media tonight.‼️

A very graphic video is spreading, and unfortunately this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s incredibly traumatizing for the people who have already seen it.

Please check in with your kids, monitor what they’re scrolling, and encourage them to tell you right away if they come across something disturbing or upsetting online.

This is something that no one should have to see.

Please keep him in your prayers—for his mental health, his health and safety, and for the first responders who are involved. These situations impact so many people, and we should never forget the humanity behind them.

Please share this so more parents are aware.

💚Saturday morning check-in.💚

Saturday morning check-in. No matter what this week looked like for you.

If you made it here, you made it through something. Even if it doesn’t feel like a big win—getting through the days, showing up for work, taking care of people, or just staying here when it was hard… it counts.

I also want to be honest with y’all. I know I haven’t been very active on here lately. I see it, I know it’s been quiet, and I’m not ignoring that. MPYV has always been something I care deeply about, but I’m also human behind it. Some weeks I’m really steady in this space, and some weeks I’m just trying to keep myself balanced and get through my own days. Right now has been a little more of that quieter, in-between time.

But I’m still here. Still showing up when I can. Still believing in what this page is about.

Mental health isn’t linear, and neither is this work. It’s messy, it’s up and down, and sometimes it looks like silence before it looks like anything else.

So if your week was heavy, or you’re just tired heading into the weekend, I hope this is a reminder that you’re not behind, you’re not failing—you’re just human.

Proud of you for making it to Saturday.🫶🏻

💙Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month💙

Did you know nearly 80% of su***de deaths in the United States are men?

Let that sink in.
These are Fathers.
Brothers.
Sons.
Friends.
Coworkers.

Many of them never told a soul they were struggling.
Many were told to “man up.”
To push through.
To stay quiet.

A lot of men were never really taught how to ask for help — or even that it was okay to.

So they learn to carry everything alone… until it gets too heavy.

Let this be your reminder — not just this month, but every month — to check on the people you love.

Especially the quiet ones.
The strong ones.
The funny ones.
The ones who are always there for everyone else.

The ones who make it look easy… are often the ones holding the most in.

If you’re struggling right now, you don’t have to go through it by yourself.

📞 988 Lifeline is available 24/7 — call, text, or online chat.

There is no shame in asking for help.💙
