IEP University was developed to help provide families and professionals with accurate and useful information around IEP development and meetings. When decisions are being made about your child’s education or services, the questions you ask matter.

PEATC’s new fact sheet, Asking the Right Questions: A Tool for Empowering Families, helps parents feel more confident and prepared in meetings, phone calls, and emails with schools and other professionals by explaining why asking questions is important, how to prioritize what matters most, and how to frame questions in ways that lead to clearer, more respectful, and more productive conversations. -https://peatc.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Asking-the-Right-Questions-Tool-for-Empowering-Families.pdf

The resource includes practical examples families can use right away to better understand recommendations, data, and next steps, and it reminds parents that strong questions do not create conflict; they support thoughtful decisions based on a child’s individual needs.

Early Childhood Academy is for families of young children (birth through age six) with disabilities & developmental delays. You are your child’s first and most important teacher and you help set a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success! In this online course, families of children with disabilities learn about supporting their child’s early learning and development and preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.

Addressing Behaviors Confidently
Wednesday, October 29, 2025 | 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Learn how to help your child be successful at home and school. This presentation will teach the basics of social and emotional skills like coping with feelings and making decisions. We will share examples of how to respond to interfering behaviors and big emotions, and you’ll learn about school behavior support options available, including Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
