The eye patches arenโt fooling anyone. ๐
Iโve been a little quieter on here lately because life has been fullโฆ in the very best way. A season of presentations, celebrations, conversations, connecting with incredible peopleโฆ and as an introvert, my social battery is officially blinking red.
So todayโs question isโฆ
For me, itโs probably not what youโd expect.
Itโs not a spa day (Iโve never really been a spa girl). It sure as heck is about slowing down.
Itโs eye patches for the tired eyes.
Itโs getting outside and spending time in my garden.
Itโs reading a good book.
Itโs sitting by the pool with no agenda.
Itโs cooking nourishing food.
Itโs refilling the supplements.
Itโs getting in a walk, soaking up some sunshine, learning something new, snuggling with my dogs, and maybeโฆ just maybeโฆ taking a nap.
For someone else, self-care might be a massage, a concert, coffee with friends, or a weekend away.
The point isnโt what you choose.
The point is that you choose ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด.
We spend so much of our lives taking care of everyone elseโฆ our families, our teams, our clients, our friendsโฆ that itโs easy to convince ourselves weโll get to ourselves later.
But as the saying goes, you canโt pour from an empty cup. And while that phrase gets overused, itโs true.
Self-care isnโt selfish.
Itโs maintenance.
Itโs how we show up with more patience, more energy, more clarity, and more of ourselves for the people who matter most.
This weekend, Iโm giving myself permission to recharge so I can show up fully again on Monday.
Now Iโm curiousโฆ
